I am currently selling something on ebay. There are 3 or 4 bids. But, someone has offered me $$ to end it now. Is there a way to legally end the auction by adding a Buy It Now? Can I cancel all of my bids and then add the buy it now price without cancelling it? My only concern with doing this is that the person is from Japan and we're in WAY different time zones.

And, I know that when someone offers a Buy It Now price that it usually means that it will sell for more money. I just had that experience last week when someone offered me $150 for an item that sold for $710. However, $300 is what I am being offered for an item this week, and that is WAY more than I would ever think to get for it. I don't do a lot of selling/buying on ebay, so any help would be appreciated.

If you didn't originallly list your auction with a buy it now, then tell the person that you must let the auction ride out, and that he is free to bid on the item like everyone else.
He's not offering you $5 to end it in order to to make a good deal for you, he is doing it to make a good deal for himself.

I'm not sure how that works, but I would definitely check on the shipping rates for Japan and make sure they are also willing to pay the shipping. It cost me big $$ to ship stuff to Norway and I ended up having to pay $50 more than what I charged for shipping due to my ignorance on shipping overseas. I no longer will ship anything outside of the US.

I've listed two pretty identical items. The difference is that one is in mint, while the other is not. This same bidder offered me $150 including shipping for the first one. He is offering me $300 plus shipping for this one. And, it's something I paid $19 for new five years ago. I'd be thrilled to get the $300. I'd just hate to see the item not bid up to $300, because as of yet, it's not being bid on like the one did last week.

And, I know how much to charge for shipping, because I just shipped the exact same item to Japan a couple days ago.

Well then, why doesn't he just bid on it? If he's gonna pay $300 anyway, let him bid.

From what I can find, if you have bids on the item you cannot add a buy it now to the auction. You can end the item early and sell to the highest bidder but that wouldn't help you get the item to $300 even if this bidder bids $300 on it. If there are more than 12 hours left, you can cancel all of the bids and end the item, then re-list it with the buy it now of $300.

Thanks. The person just told me to cancel the auction and they'd send me money through paypal. Sometimes it stinks to play by the rules. I'll just let it ride.
