Recently I sold some of my home interior. I had 1 bidder bid and win 3 of them. I sent the winning bidders an email of acknowledgement thanking them for bidding and winning also with the amount due. This particular bidder I have not heard anything from. So through Ebay, I sent another note (3 days now I havent heard from) this buyer mentioning that I havent received a response. Now I get in my email this:

I tried twice and both times I get this. Does this mean the buyer has blocked me from sending a email? This is a first for me and Im dont want to jump the gun.

Thanks, Teresa

It sounds like some I get..I don't know if it's an aol and verizon thing, but I resend through gmail and it goes fine. I tried sendind through ebay and it just uses my email, so that didn't work either.

I just resent without going through Ebay....so far...nothing has bounced back. How long should I wait?

I would give it a few days. I have sold quite a bit on ebay and you'd be surprised how many people dont email you back to say payment is on the way etc. Especially true if theyre sending payment thru the mail rather than via paypal. If you haven't heard in a few days, just email them back. Put it politely as if you are asking if they had received your email (say you've had problems with the mail) that way you don't sound too "pushy".

I know your first selling experience can be nerve wracking, but don't panic overly...easier said than done I know!!

This is why I finally had to get "strict" in my auction policies.

I got too many people who would wait a week to contact me, and then say they wanted to use a payment method I didn't use, etc.

I only use PayPal (I just can't stand waiting for money orders, LOL, and I don't want to give out my street address on eBay) and clearly in bold print say :

"Seller only accepts PayPal and payment is expected within 3 days of auction close or auction will be relisted. If you have any questions, please ask BEFORE bidding."

I've had much less problem since I have done this, and when people argue I just point them to the auction nicely and point out the "bold" print. There are still some people who don't care, and ask me to take another payment method "just this once" but I have to be firm. I have a PayPal debit card I use to pay for Disney trip related things and find it much easier this way.

Good luck, and here's to many high bids on your items!

This sounds more like it's an email problem..not an errant payer. The buyer is prob posting on some board somewhere.."what is wrong with sellers, I"m STILL waiting to get the combined shipping price sent to me". I too, have had problems getting my mail (aol) to get to a buyer, and sometimes have ot use Gmail or my road runner account. I would pull the contact info and call, if you have a cell phone with free minutes.

Here is how it went so far.

First email - I sent using Ebay messaging. This email listed the auctions won and the amount due. It did not get bounced back.

Second email - I sent 4 days later using Ebay messaging. This bounced back the next day :The original message was received at Sat, 30 Apr 2005 14:24:35 -0700

I thought an error so I resend the next day

Third email - using Ebay messaging, ( a copy of email #2) and this was bounced back immeidately with the same message.

Fourth email - Yesterday, I did not go thorugh Ebay messaging and I emailed a copy of the invoice directly. I did add to it that I need to get some kind of response by Sunday 5/1/05 otherwise Im assuming he/she is not going to honor the bids. The auction closed on 4/27/05. Still have not heard anything as of yet. I dont want to rush into anything, but I have a bad feeling on this.

You don't know if the email got bounced back to ebay or not. It would go to ebay:(

How is her feedback? Do you have free minutes on a cell phone, and if not, can you call her?

She may just be a deadbeat, but I would try calling first...unless her feedback shows bad news.

Gmail is a email provider. You can only subscribe if you are invited. It is free and I really like it. If you want it, just let me know.

I didn't realize you still had to be invited. I got a message saying it was now open. Try here and see if they will let you sign up. It's google email.

Oops..it does say it's still a test. I suspect if you write they will give you an addy, but if not several of us can "invite" you. We don't get anything out of it, it's just how it's shared.

If you need a GMail invite just send me a PM with your name and email address. I will send you an invitation. I have plenty if anyone else needs one.
