I recently listed an ebay item, stating the UK postage and adding that international bidders should ask for a quote for overseas shipping rates.
The winning bidder was from the US, but hadn't asked for shipping rates. I emailed to say that I would get back to him with the amount. Then emailed him again to tell him the amount and, because the rate was disproportionate to the value of the goods and because he appeared to be a novice ebayer (rating of 5), I offered to let him back out of the purchase, but asked for him to let me know by a deadline. Then I received a payment from him that included the UK postage rate, so I emailed him and asked for a UK mailing address. After no response at all I emailed again with a deadline by which time I would refund his money minus deductions for my listing charges.
I've had no reply at all, but don't know how to go about refunding! Any ideas??
