Ebay question about item not received

I won a cd a few months ago on Ebay, sent the money and the seller accidentaly shipped me body jewellery instead, so I emailed him, he said send it back and he'd contact the person that he accidentaly sent the cd to, and he'd reimburse me for the shipping.

Well, it's been a couple months (past the 30 day mark), and I haven't heard back from him. I reformatted my hard drive recently, and lost the email with the item number, so I can't file a complaint. I emailed him thru his Ebay page, since I can't get contact info without an item number, but he hasn't gotten back to me. He's still selling stuff, he has a "store" on there, so he's still around, but no response!

What do I do now? I know I'm pretty much SOL with Ebay, since I don't have the item #, but I'd either like my money back or the cd!!

Any advice? This is the first problem I've had with a seller, and I don't know where else to turn!

You should be able to go back in your My Ebay page to see the items you have won. You can go back to Nov or the past 60 days which sounds like it will be far enough. Good luck!

The only problem is, this was back in Sept or a bit earlier, I even looked in My Ebay, and it's not in there unfortunately.

Oh, it has been that long? Well, I guess I would try contacting ebay and see if they can give you the item number and contact info. If it was that long though, you don't have many lines of recourse. Hope it works out.

You've pretty much passed any timeframes for recourse. At this point, I think you may have to chock it up to a loss I'm sorry to say.

If you paid with PP you should be able to go to your PP transactions page and get the full history. The transaction information whould be embedded in the transaction page. But after this long it would be too long to file with PP for a refund, I think. You should still be able to leave feedback if you get the item number to pull it up on ebay.

I guess I'm SOL then, because I sent a money order (this was before I signed up for PP), and can't find the receipt either.

Another way to find old transactions is to check under the feedback you still need to leave..sometimes you can access the actual auction there..go to Feedback Forum and then click on Leave Feedback
