Ebay Purchase question

I made a BUY IT Now transaction over a week ago. I emailed the seller about insurance $, paid with PayPal. The seller said she would be shipping it on Wed, she is in Florida and I bought insurance. I haven't heard from her since. I've e-mailed her and heard nothing. Then while surfing around on e-bay I saw that she had an auction for the EXACT same item that started the day after I made my purchase......

She has about 100 transactions on e-bay. What to do??????

Is it something she could not have 2 of? Did she acknowledge your payment (leave feedback, email)?
The internet (MSN) has been down for a few days so she may be catching up on email, so I wouldn't worry so much about that. I'm not surprised you don't have your package yet though.

Does she have a lot of negative feedback? Read through some of the feedback & are they for selling or just for purchasing. I always check that before I bid. If her selling feedback is positive, I wouldn't be as concerned. It means other people have been happy with her transactions.

alot of times i find that people have more than one of the item that i bid on that they are selling - i always look through before i make my bid (of course my bids are mainly on antenna toppers so i try to go for the one that has the best beginning bid or hasn't been bid on yet). hopefully that was the case - i would email her again this morning and ask her. also curious - did you pay via paypal???

Also, with the problems the internet has been experiencing, it might be that your Paypal payment hasn't shown up in her account yet. I would suggest e-mailing her again.

We recommend that buyers take the following steps to resolve potentially suspicious transactions:

Initial Steps For Buyer:

2.14-30 days Seek Outside Resolution A. Try Dispute Resolution: SquareTrade offers FREE online dispute resolution

i would try e-mailing her again. often i find that people sell 2 or more of the same thing. :)

sometimes it takes awhile for things to ship too. :)

If you are an ebay seller and you have multiples of an item, it is in your best interest to sell them in individual auctions. How was your seller shipping the item? Parcel post can take a LONG time. Sue sent a package to me at DIScon. She sent it express mail and it took over a week to arrive. Perhaps it will arrive today. :)

A lot of times the "buy now" items are from stores, so they have multiple of their things.
It is happening more and more on ebay.

I would check to make sure your PayPal payment went through and don't give up with e-mail. Sometimes it takes awhile for them to respond if it is a store.

It was thru Paypal and I checked, the transaction is completed. I just e-mailed again. I sure hope I hear from her/him. Makes you nervous. I checked the feedback. Lots of positives, 2 negatives claiming they never rec'd the item. Seller resonded saying one didn't buy insurance, the other did and the receipt shows it was rec'd. I did buy insurance, I hope!

Towncrier,

If your Express Mail item was not available for overnight (or second day, depending on the guarantee) delivery, you are entitled to a refund of the cost of mailing it.

All you need is the mailer's copy, take it to any Post Office and they can call to verify the failure. You (or Sue) should get a refund on the spot.

Express Mail is our premium product and the USPS takes failures very seriously. A week is just unacceptable!!

Alright, I need some more help. I won the item on 1/17. Paypal transaction cleared on 1/18. That is the last time I heard from the seller. She/He said they would be shipping on Wed (22). I've e-mailed twice, Sat and Mon and heard NOTHING! I also bought insurance.

What would you do at this point?

Contact E-Bay, but don't expect much. I have NOT had good exeriences with them!

1] Get the sellers phone number as ebay suggests and call them

2] If the seller does not answer the call - go to the paypal link I posted and file a complaint against the seller.

I wouldnt worry about it yet if they only shipped it out on the 22nd, I just received an item yesterday that was shipped out on the 17th, you had the weekend in there I wouldnt start to worry yet, I bet it comes today;)

I don't think I'd worry about it yet either. Some times mail is slow. I have had packages shipped priority that took two weeks to get somewhere! If you don't get it by early next week and haven't heard from the seller, I'd probably try to go through ebay to get the seller's personal information and contact the seller.
Good luck!!

Perhaps she is sick or her computer has broken which is why she hasn't responded.

You didn't say how she was shipping it - UPS ground or priority mail or overnight? UPS ground from Florida to Ohio is about 4-5 days. Even though priority mail says 2-3 days, it can take longer.

I would give it until tomorrow. If you don't receive it, fill out the request on eBay for the Seller's address and phone number and call her. If you don't get any response that way, your next step is to file a dispute with eBay. Go to www.ebay.com and click on the help section. Go to eBay policies, rules for sellers, non-selling sellers and follow the instructions.

eBay will email her and give her another chance to respond to you. She has 10 days. If you get no response after 10 days, you may request a reimbursement from eBay, but they will only pay you up to $200 (I believe, you'll need to check this on their site) and there is something like a $25 transaction fee, so you end up only getting $175.

I think you can also file a dispute with Paypal and take some recourse that way.

I wouldn't panic; it's too early to do that. As someone said earlier, you'll probably get it today.

the other thing is i know the worm has effected a lot of email servers, mine included. when i recently re-requested the amount for shipping on an ebay purchase, i explained that my email had been down and didn't recover the emails sent during the downtime. the seller said they had been having the same problems with emails.

Some sellers just don't have good email skills. I've had several experiences where I didn't get a reply, but the package came. I'd give it a few more days or give her a call.

LOL! I hope that is the problem here. I've only purchased from e-bay a few times but the sellers always e-mailed once the item was shipped. I'll give it a few more days and then contact e-bay if I don't hear from them.

Thanks everyone!
