eBay/Paypal question

So, I just sold something on eBay. The buyer has paid using paypal but it says:

Completed - Funds not yet available

So, question on this - when you sell on eBay, the fund aren't available right away? How does that work? I wanted to ship tomorrow am, but I am confused by this...

Are you a new seller? I think they put a hold on your account if you are new.

You really need to go to PayPal's site and read and understand their rules before usiing this service. Your question is answered there.

I'm guessing they sent an e-check? Possibly? Although, I thought those said "pending" until it cleared the bank.

Usually, that means the buyer is either new to PayPal, or they presented an "e-check" (some accounts are set-up to present e-checks, only).

Either way, just monitor the situation and wait until the funds are available to you, then ship...

FYI, on all my listings, I put a disclaimer saying "I ship the next business day after cleared payment", meaning the funds must clear PayPal and be available for me to transfer/withdraw.

If you are new to selling on ebay they will hold the funds in paypal, if you click on the detail link from paypal for the transaction it will tell you when the funds will be available. You have to ship it whether the funds are released or not and if you include a tracking number or print your shipping through ebay or paypal your funds will be released sooner. this happened to me when I first started selling on ebay a few months ago but as long as you ship within the correct time frame they'll release the funds quickly.

I'm a relatively new ebay seller and they always hold the funds. The funds are not released until the item has been shipped. If you ship through ebay the tracking number is sent to paypal and the $ is released sooner. If you ship another way it will take longer.
