A person who won an auction of mine last weekend has now been listed as "no longer a registered user" with ebay.
She didn't contact me for 3 days after auction end.
Finally she emailed me saying that her paypal account has been frozen due to someone hacking into it and buying things w/o her knowledge. She offered to pay with a MO which I do accept. Later that day she got - FB for non payment. That night she called me to "explain". She said the whole thing has been a "nightmare" and that she feels really bad. She will not be able to mail the MO until Fri when her paycheck gets deposited.
I was OK waiting for the MO but now (Thurs nite) I see that she is no longer a reg. user w/ ebay!
What do I do?
The item I'm selling her is a boys summer clothing outfit. So the second chance offer may no longer be wanted by the second highest bidder.
It makes me mad bc. the winner outbid the second highest by only 50 cents! I could have this item SOLD and be done w/ it, but instead I've got headaches!

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I emailed ebay about it but then saw that they take 24-49hrs to respond. If I'm going to decline her MO, I need to contact her tonight and tell her not to mail it.

thanks so much for this suggestion
i just got done with the live help.
i didn't know about this option.
the rep was very helpful and told me that i did not have to complete this transaction with this buyer.
i will file an unpaid item dispute and offer the second chance to the next bidder.

thanks again!

Post this on the Budget Board. The eBay police over there will track her down!

Yikes- what will they do to her?

Seriously.....I didn't include this in the OP but here is what makes me nervous about continuing the transaction w. her: she has only been on ebay for 2 months and has 121 purchases totaling hundreds of dollars, maybe thousands. She told me on the phone that she noticed some purchases on her account that were not hers but didn't think to investigate. (sounds fishy, huh?)
I've heard of people who are actually addicted to shopping. I've heard that sometimes these go on ebay spending sprees, buying lots of things in a short period of time and then just dropping out of sight. I'm not saying that this is the case with this buyer, but much of her "story" just doesn't jive. Too risky to continue with her.

FWIW, if I were interested in a boy's summer outfit enough to bid, say, 10 days ago, I'd still be interested in a boy's summer outfit. :)
