Alright was on cell phone before. Talking to seller
On Sept 9th bought and paid for a light on eBay. Seller said it would be here on Friday, he makes mistake and it arrives the following Monday. After inspection of part found that mounts on light are broken and on side of box it's written BROKE. Notified seller, he first offers me 50% off if I keep it and make it work. Then he tells me the part must of broke in transit. I just tell him I want a refund he send a return tag from ups and it arrives on the 20th, ups said they attempted twice to pick it up. Lol. On the parts way back to the seller the train get derailed in Texas, talked to seller today he said I have to wait till he gets the part till he refunds the part. It's been 3 weeks and since day 1 it's been a bad transaction with the delivery and him sending a known bad part. So now my money has been tied up for 3 weeks. I'm asking what's the best way to dispute this, I paid for it by my checking account on Paypal.
Frustrated with seller on eBay.

File a dispute with ebay.

You will want to be very clear in the dispute paperwork so ebay will side with you.

I'd open a claim on ebay saying the item wasn't as described and you've shipped it back.

Honestly if it were me I would file the dispute with PayPal. They are pretty good as far as protecting buyers. I had to file a dispute with PayPal & they were very helpful & refunded the money back to my account. You file the dispute with them online explaining the situation & then they will look into it & give their decision. But 9 out of 10 times they protect the buyers and will refund you. There usually very good about it (another good reason why to pay for online purchases with them). It may take about a week or two for them to refund you and settle your dispute but you will get your refund.

He's trying to pass the blame on me saying if I would have shipped it back on the 18th of sept instead of the 20th none of this would have happened. I just want a refund, but with all this hassle I will stand on my soap box in all the Harley forums telling about my experience with this seller.

Definitely follow a dispute with PayPal right away. Just explain your situation and how the seller is trying to pass the blame on you. Also be sure to include how the item was broken & how it was written on the box like that too. PayPal is very good in protecting their buyers. Just file the dispute right away. You don't want to wait on this.

I would file with Paypal. I have had to do this twice, once was because I bought a NIB WII and the person sent me a picture of a WII. It was $400 and they refunded me right away!

I would file a "item not as described" dispute with paypal. Do you the tracking info for the returned package? They may want that information.
