Hi chaps,

Anyone here an Ebay expert??

I've just won a bid and paid the seller via Paypal. I got the receipt from Paypal saying it was all OK etc and the payment was for the right amount.

Normally pretty much instantly the status of the item on Ebay changes to "paid". Well it is still showing as unpaid several hours later and I wondered does this often happen and I should just wait patiently?? I'm just surprised as I'm sure before when I've done it the status changed at the same time as the receipt being emailed to me (which it was 2 hours ago).

I could email the seller but even if he's had the money that won't change the status to paid.

Thanks for any thoughts / experiences! Or email addresses for Ebay! (Can't find one LOL)

Cheers

Karen

Ebay are pretty much uncontactable,
I wouldnt worry at all on the status as long as youve paid paypal send you and the seller emails,Thats all I need to know .when i make a payment at the weekend Ebay pages are notoriously slow at updating!,

Have to agree with Ian there. Since most sellers on ebay prefer Paypal I tend to use it quite alot when paying for something. It is much quicker to update Monday to Friday than it is Saurday and Sunday. As long as you have your receipt from Paypal then your sorted.

This does happen sometimes i have found. Also there has been a couple of times recently that i have paid for and received the items and then received a confirmation from ebay saying i have won, several days after winning...you could always go to your paypal account and check the status of the payment for peace of mind, but if you have the receipt i dont see a problem.

If you mean the bit where it says items you have won........ there is a little downwards arrow next to where it says either pay now or not paid, click on the arrow and change it to paid!

Is this what you mean?

As long as you have your confirmation email I wouldnt worry.

Silverka, that's exactly what I meant :D

I didn't realise you could change that yourself  as it seemed to change of its own accord before!

Thanks everyone for all your help, much appreciated :)
