I recently sold an item on ebay and the auction ended Thursday evening. I immediately emailed the buyer and then sent him an ebay invoice. I am only accepting money order or cashier's check for this item. The buyer is in Miami. I have since emailed two other times and have heard nothing from the buyer. I know it is too soon for the payment to have arrived, but I should receive it by Tuesday. How long do I need to wait to relist the item if I don't hear from the buyer? What should be my next step? In my emails I asked him to please let me know when payment had been made or to at least get in touch with me. Now what?

Thanks,
Melanie

Chill for a while. If the auction closed on Thursday, Tuesday might even be early. Give them until Friday and then e mail again. If, after 2 more days you do not get a response, and you still have not recieved the money order/cashiers check, then send an e mail telling them you will relist the item. Did you specify a time frame in the payment instructions?
Then, report the buyer to EBay. :moped:

I always give 10 days for a money order to arrive.
Have you heard from the buyer yet, as confirmation that they recieved your invoice/email and that they are sending payment? If not I would email them a "friendly reminder." Something simple like I haven't heard from you regarding your win of my ebay item (give item number and or name). Please respond to this email to let me know that you recieved it.
If by day 7 you have still not heard from them I would file a unpaid item dispute through ebay. This will notify the buyer that you have not recieved payment and that they need to respond thorough ebay why, etc. This allows another 7 days for you to receive payment.
If after another 7 days you have not recieved payment then you need to close the dispute and you will recieve your FVF credit. It is ONLY then that you can relist and get have it count as a relist.

Anyone accepting MOs or checks will have to probably give them more time this time of year. Lots of mail to deliver. I've noticed my MOs are not getting here nearly as fast as they usually do. Which reminds me, i have two to deposit tomorrow!
