Back in 2013 and again in 2014, Ebates offered 20% cash back on Orbitz activities purchases, which includes theme park tickets. It was a steal of a deal, and they haven't offered anything close since February 2014 until now. On 11/26/2016 and again today, they are offering 15% cash back on activities. https://www.ebates.com/coupons/orbitz/index.htm

This deal is not quite as good as a 6-day pass for the price of a 3-day pass, which was available recently, but it's pretty close. You can also stack your credit card rewards on top of this deal.

Orbitz will sell a voucher that is supposed to be exchanged in person for park tickets before the end of the year. However, you can get around picking up the tickets in person by requesting the, "My Magic Code," from Orbitz and entering that code into My Disney Experience. You can try calling Orbitz for the code, but it sounds like a lot of operators aren't familiar with it. I had a very good experience by emailing Orbitz customer service in 2014, and I think that is the easiest option. If you just can't get the appropriate number from Orbitz, others have reported that they were able to redeem the vouchers over the phone by calling Disney.

Here is a copy of the email I sent in 2014:

Hello,

I made two purchases on Orbitz on 2/24/14 for Disney World park passes, and I am writing to request the, "My Magic Codes," which will allow me to link the passes on My Disney Experience. The code should be 4 letters followed by 8 numbers.

There were two separate Orbitz purchases, and these are the Orbitz record locator numbers:
PBORB20645#####
PBORB89762#####

Thank you so much for your help.

Do we have any assurance that, once redeemed by the 12/31/16 redemption date, these can be used at any time in the future once you link them in your MDE? I'd like to jump on this deal, but I won't get to go back to Disney until 2018 or beyond.

I didn't either. So, I just Googled "Orbitz Disney World tickets" and got to them from there. Then, I had to put them in my cart and then activate the Ebates button, as activating the Ebates button first kicked me back to the Orbitz home page and I couldn't find them again...

Okay, I see that, but only tickets I see now are ones good through the end of 2016. Our trip is in July of 2017. Guess we need to wait for now.

Our trip won't be until 2018 either, and while the tickets might still be valid if linked to MDE by end of 2016, I am too chicken to try :(

The ebates deal is dead, but I thought I'd reply to everyone's concerns in case it becomes active again. I apologize that I couldn't respond yesterday while the deal was still active.

I cannot guarantee that this deal, or deals from United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and others will work, but I can tell you that they have worked for me and many other Dis-ers. I have personally purchased this deal via beats in February, 2014, added the tickets to my MDE account, and used the tickets 13 months later. I have personally purchased ticket vouchers from Southwest Airlines, redeemed them in my MDE account, and used the park tickets after the date that the vouchers would have expired.

The key point has been posted on other threads: Southwest tickets are Disney tickets. United tickets are Disney tickets. Orbitz tickets are Disney tickets. None of them follow any special rules. They all follow general Disney World ticket rules. Once you've made your purchase, you just need the appropriate code to enter into MDE to redeem the voucher. Personally, I had no difficulty getting these codes via email from Orbitz and Southwest. Others have reported difficulty getting the appropriate code via phone call, but were them able to get the code when they called Disney directly. I would just send an email - if the recipient doesn't know the code, they can easily forward the email on to someone who will know it.
