Am I the only one who has spent more time in the restaurant section of these boards instead of oh the theme park stuff?

Honestly...I'm not a real big eater but am facinated by all the selections. My dh keeps saying to me "honey you're planning this whole trip around the food, we can't possibly eat that much."

At first I was like, ok, lets pick one great restaurant to eat at while we're at disney...then it was three, now it's up to five. What do I do?!!!

So far: California Grill, Jiko's, Yachtsman, Citrios & Blue Zoo but I still want to try Palios, Flying Fish, Spoodles, it never ends....

I'm not really sure what to do, just wanted to let you know that I'm in the same boat!!

same boat! I love the parks but love the eating even more! I pretty much diet year round so that I can go all out for DISNEY!!!!!

I'm the same way. The parks pretty much stay the same, so the new restaurants keeps it exciting to plan. We have a couple we have repeated, but I try to get mostly new places on each trip. Eventually we'll have favorites, but right now it's fun trying them all. In a couple weeks we're trying a few new ones - LeCellier, Kona, and 1900 Park Fare. I just keep finding new places that sound good. DH is not a very adventurous eater - give him chicken strips and he's happy. But WDW (Epcot in particular) has helped me broaden his eating horizons. We've eaten San Angel Inn, Beirgarten, Teppanyaki, and Marrakesh! Now I'm working on Boma......

sunny04, my dh is the same...give him a hot dog and he's happy. but i love to enjoy the atmosphere of different restaurants like you mentioned.

keep us updated on the new places you will be trying.

I plan my entire trip on where we are eating and when. I love to look at the menus and plan our meals from app's to dessert. My family thinks I am crazy but am always glad when we are at the restaurant. We are trying to eat our way around Disney World by trying new restaurants each trip. For our October trip I have picked...Concourse, Alfredo's, Cap'n Jacks, Coral Reef, and Ohana for breakfast. We will still visit favorites like: Prime Time, Ohana, and Sci Fi. Have fun and good eating!!!

I'm the same way. We are doing 4 trips in the next 18 months or so, so I get to pick restaraunts for all of them. I'm done chosing for August, but now I need to decide on one for October, a bunch for December, and some for May/June, I really like the ability to chose all sorts of restaraunts since most of the ones around here are the big chains and get semi boring after awhile.

Me too, lol. I spent far more time on this board than the others when I was planning the last trip even though with a 3.5 year old as my travelling companion it wasn't like I was planning on a lot of fine dining. Our next trip is almost 9 months away I'm already thinking far more about where we'll eat and than what rides we'll go on or attractions we'll see.

My absolute, most favorite part of planning our WDW vacation is scheduling our ADR's! :yay:

I get so excited! I've made a spreadsheet to "organize" our dining plans & keep going back over it like it's some strategic document. Last year, DH thought I was a little crazy  , but, after benefiting from the fruits of my craziness last May, he's much more encouraging this year! But people who don't "do" Disney totally don't understand how I can be so excited about knowing exactly where I'm going to be eating on June 18th at 6:30 pm.

I spend all of my time on the dining board. The more reviews I read, the more restaurants I decide we have to try. And I keep trying to come up w/ ways to fit more restaurants into our schedule! :rotfl: For our upcoming 7 night/6 day stay in June, I currently have 10 ADR's (11 if the Toy Story meal becomes reality)! And I would still really like to fit in Boma somewhere, & I'm hoping to be able to sneak over to Beaches & Cream after "Illuminations"... And I'm trying to decide if I need to order a cake from the WDW bakery for Father's Day...

Oh, and eating at Disney is so fun that it makes our town's restaurants seem a little bland now. Just tonight, DH & I were discussing where to eat, and I was trying to think of the name of our local Japanese restaurant, but all I could think of was Teppanyaki. Disney dining consumes my thoughts! :teeth: I want to make ADR's for everything!

The only TS I've ever eaten at are Prime Time (dessert only) and Chefs de France for dinner. After not even getting into Chefs de France this past trip and having a 3 & a 1/2 hour wait for Rainforest Cafe in DTD, this trip we made ADRs for the first time and (CS aside) will be eating at:

Hollywood Brown Derby, Sci-Fi (dessert only), Chefs de France, Marrakesh (dessert only), Alfredo's, Rainforest Cafe (AK), California Grill, Chef Mickey's

:rotfl2: Talk about one extreme to another. But after the umpteenth chicken tenders/pizzas/hot dogs of last trip, I said, shoot, I'm going all out. I even scheduled a 7th day vs. the usual 6 to fit it all in. :lmao: I've never eaten at any of them except RFC and Chefs de France, so hopefully I'll have some good reviews when I get back. And I'll take picture for the food thread! I  that thread!

Oh wow, I've found a post where I belong :lmao:

Thanks to the restaurant boards (especially the food porn thread ;) ) I will be trying new this trip:

Le Cellier
Teppanyaki
Whispering Canyon Cafe
1900 Park Fare
LTT
Mama Melrose
California Grill

I found myself twisting which parks I would visit and when to be near restaurants so I could get them all in :teeth: Mt DH doesn't get it either but he sure was happy eating at Boma and Bluezoo last trip. He does draw the line at the food porn thread and thinks I'm crazy to torture myself over pictures...he's probably right but I still don't care :thumbsup2

Happy eating everybody,
Claire xx

ME TOO!! The rides are great, but the eating is just as much a part of the overall "vacation experience" for me!

Hey, by the way....let me share a little thing I just found recently. At Cracker Barrel, they have a book called Restaurants to Check out: A Do-It Yourself Restaurant Guide. It's basically a blank book with spots to fill in information about restaurants you want to eat at, things you want to eat there, etc. It's split into local, out of town and take out, but I bought it and am going to use it for my WDW restaurants. I've split it into parks, resorts and CS and have sort of reworked the things listed on each page to fit how I need it to. For those of you other restaurant planning people, you might find this fun to use too. Just thought I'd share.

I thought I was the only one like this!!! I watched my DH's eyes roll back in his head when I wanted to go through all the menus again before our 1st trip!!! And he barely wants to hear what I've already planned for our next one! Yes, I did much the same with rides, etc.... what I wanted to see & all and DH was great about navigating us through all the parks ... but ... I loved the food and planning. I ate exactly where I wanted and what I wanted by looking at the menus! I am ALWAYS on the restaurant threads. And those of you that post pictures of food - why THAT's a CRIME (and cruel cause I want to be there now!)!!! :teeth:

If I got the book from Cracker Barrel (which sounds so interesting!), I think my DH would be calling up the men in white coats -- ok by me as long as they had MICKEY MOUSE emblems on them!!!

Great posts and I'm glad I'm not the only one. (Also hope I am not the thread killer to end this one!!)

i so agree about the pictures...someone posted their bacon double cheeseburgers and i have been jonesing for one ever since...but i'm saving it up for disney :sunny:

hi everyone  ,
I can relate to ALL of you - I diet for months to eat my heart out at WDW :yay: , I've been planning the rest of our trip around our meals :surfweb: , my DH thinks I'm nuts for being a "food porn" addict :sad2: , I realize that there are other boards on this site but I can't seem to tear myself from the Dining board long enough to visit them  .... should we start up a "FPA (Food Porn Anonymous) Group"?!?! "Hi, my name's xxxxx and it's been xxdays since I've viewed food porn on the boards..." :rotfl:

All I can say is - "Keep 'em coming!!!"
