Eating outside at Rose & Crown early NOT for illuminations.

Has anyone done this in the winter months? It gets dark early and I would like to eat outside before its completely dark just to enjoy the view plus I think trying for an outside table late at night might be too cold for outside dining.
Just curious about your experience and opinion on time frame. Thinking maybe 4-5 but not sure.

Never can tell about the weather in December--Could be pretty chilly (colder than you'd want it to be to dine outdoors) or it could be 80 degrees. I guess best bet is to make the ADR and if there's a cold spell during your trip you can cancel the day before (or just eat inside R&C.)

We have eaten outside at R&C in January probably about 5 times at least, always for Illuminations, so later than you are thinking. If it gets cold, they have heaters on the patio that have always worked for us.

We were seated outside at R&C for dinner in early January for a 6 pm dinner. It was cool enough even with the heaters that we were glad to be done so we could find someplace warmer and we're used to Illinois winters.

I've done it a couple of times for a late lunch (got done 2:30-3) in January before and really enjoyed how quiet it was. Once it was pretty chilly and once it was pleasant. Like a previous poster said, who knows, but I enjoyed it enough to try it again the next year. I really love sitting by the lagoon any time of day, I don't think you'll be disappointed! Have a lovely time.
