Eating or drinking while on the phone...

This irritates me. I don't know why either but I hate it when I'm on the phone and I can hear the other person eating or drinking while we're talking. My dh just called me and in between sentences I could hear him loudly drinking something. I cut the conversation short.
One time I had someone call me from a business and while we were discussing something I could hear her eating. I finally said "Are you EATING while we are talking?" She stammered around and finally said yes. I told her to call me back when she was done eating. I can't believe I did that to her but it just kind of grosses me out to hear eating and drinking noises on the phone.

We have someone at work that does that, eats while on the phone. He is not a quiet eater and it drives me nuts to listen to him talking to someone just smacking away.

I have a friend who used to eat all the time while I was talking to her on the phone. Either that or I was talking to her while she was in the bathroom. At least she didn't eat and pee at the same time.

I've been known to do it but usually while talking to my mom, sis or DH. NEVER on a business call or to people I don't know in the intimate way you know your very, very close family.

Ah no big deal really heck if somone calls me while I am eating I will continue to eat if I call my mom or dad or anyone else and dinner gets put out I will eat and continue to eat it really isn't a big deal mind you I talk to people while in teh bathroom also LOL.

If someone calls me and I'm eating I'll continue to do so. I wouldn't mind someone I know well eating while we are talking, but I wouldn't call someone if I am eating. I would not be happy if a person representing a business called me and they were eating. Not professional at all!

Ordinarily, I don't eat or drink while on the phone. However, prime time for patients to call is the dinner hour when I'm on call, and, sometimes, the phone rings mid-meal. If the patients would promise not to call during dinnertime, I will promise not to be eating when they call. Since that is not likely to happen, I guess they'll just have to get over it.

I'm a recruiter and part of my job is to interview potential candidates for open positions. I had an administrative assistant opening and a candidate came in to meet with me. Her resume and experience was great however, she was eating a small pack of Smarties candies while answering my questions and the plastic wrapper was crackling the whole time! She apologized for being nervous but ate 2 packs of them DURING THE INTERVIEW!!!

It was so annoying!

Guess who didn't get to interview for the client???

Ill eat on the phone if I know who it is. Most people don't care. I guess if it bothers them they would say something. I don't think most people even notice. I am a quiet eater when I need to be.

I had someone Call me... He was eatting and loud enough that I was already annoyed... I said, if you are not yet finished CHOMPPING in my ear.. Please call me back when you are done...and I hung up...

I can't stand people's chewing on the phone or in the same room. My family and I would be eating dinner and I would stop and my mom or dad would go " Is there something wrong Melissa?" YES! "I hear you chewing, my god you're like a cow" (of coarse I didn't say that out loud) "I hear you chewing." I simply say. They already know I'm really annoyed by that. So my dad chews LOUDER just to get on my nerves lol. So I run upstairs and grab my ipod so I can't hear anything but loud music. Lol, my sister gets annoyed with me when I call her a cow because she has annoying chewing. So she calls me Pinnochio because of my nose and I tell little "fibs" (sometimes....and no I don't have a big nose ) Or she calls me Peter Pan (it's a joke that me and my cousin made up )

And my mom would be in the kitchen eating something like chips and she'd be on the phone and eating. So when she's off the phone I'm like...." Why are you eating and talking on the phone at the same time....people don't want to hear you chew (of coarse I wasn't serious when I said this) Even when someone is eating on the phone and isn't even talking to me annoys me! lol ok....I'll stop talking now

I can't stand to hear someone eating or drinking while on the phone. It's amplified like 100000000 times I think. Another peeve of mine is CRUNCHING ICE. UGH! Two girls that work in my office crunch their ice and it's so annoying.

I dated a guy like that, he couldn't stand to hear other people chew, however he sipped coffee so Loud, I made fun of him..
