Is it possible to take own food onto the Eurostar? as we are on it at all through lunchtime . I was thinking if we could fill up our tummies before we get there it would save a bit of money on food? but I didnt know if there was any rules about this as we are crossing over the border into france etc.?

I don't think its an issue. Whenever we have travelled to France we have bought dairy & meat products back no problem.

thanks i think this will be a good idea. I dont know if many people do take their food on there but i would have thought so as it is lunchtime.

(maybe they sell food on the train though, perhaps they might want us to buy it from them!)

They do sell food on the train, but from what i've heard the queues are always long. I have seen people take their own food on board & had no problems

yup we took food on the train (I'm not a fan of train food!)

good thats what I wanted to hear. that will save the cost of one lunch and ensure some fruit & veg get in the diet just in case its chips all weekend!

We also took food on, we took a packed lunch so that when we arrived we could go straight to the park, we booked an evening meal for 6pm at Planet Hollywood, we needed a hot meal by then, however it was expensive & I don't think I'd eat there again.

We took food on the train and we also bought some stuff on the train. Queues were not too bad, but prices were terrible - you can pay in euros or pounds, either way, it isn't cheap. You are better off eating before you get on the train (plenty of places at St Pancras), taking some snacks with you, and then having a main meal when you get there.

We take food on the train, especially since the visit where I bought a chicken sandwich on the Eurostar and got food poisoning which spoiled the holiday :(

oh dear! poor you. that is definitely a good reason to take your own food then

I'm planning on eating something at St Pancras before we get on the train, taking a few snacks on the train and then going to Rainforest Cafe or Annettes for dinner after the parks have closed :cool1:

October seems so far away...

I've always taken my lunch on board the train and eaten at my seat no worries although I once had a snack of chocolate dippers of which one of the breadsticks broke off and went flying down the carriage, hit someone on the head and bounced off again!! My mate and I were in hysterics and when the business man got off at Lille I had to pop down the carriage to retrive the offending breadstick!!

It is expensive to purchase snakcs and drinks on board I think but when I've been gagging for a hot drink I have always paid in sterling.
