eating in epcot 10-9 What's going on?

Does anyone know whats happening in Epcot on October 9th? The CM keep saying no dinner reservations for R&C, Le Cellier, or Marrakesh.

Does anybody know of anything? We were planning to go over, eat, and see Illuminations.

My hubbly thought maybe some special event? The Cm had no info.

I know I have plenty of time, but I just love planning for Disney Trips

Not sure, but isn't this the official media event for Mission:Space??
If so, there will be TONS of press people swarming the park. Does anyone else have first hand experience with how crowded these media events get?

I thought PS's for most restaurants could only be made up to 60 days out?

It could very well be the press event since the offical opening of MS is set for 10/15. When we were there for the Millenium celebration they actually closed Epcot the evening of the press event, I think it closed at 4:00 or so. They extended the hours of the other parks, that evening to compensate for the closing.

This is what we were told by WDW guest services info.......
The media event for M:S is scheduled for Oct 9th. The park would not be closed for the event, but expect it to be crowded.
The grand opening/media event for Mickey's Philharmonic at MK is the same day.

I too am wondering what it is like during a media event......anyone know???

Yep, media event for M:S. Expect a lot of areas closed off for these people during that day. I'd do Epcot another day if you could.
