I'm sure this has been discussed before but I'm not able to find it with the search.

Want to give us something to do in EPCOT while enjoying the Santas in December. The couple we're going with are not huge fans of Epcot but are coming to see the boys and the Santas. I was thinking if we had something to look forward to eating/drinking something in each country that might make it a bit more fun for everyone!

There will be 4 adults (DH and me and the other couple going with us) and DS4 and DS2. The kids cannot have peanuts, shellfish or garlic basically (DS4's allergic to just about everything you can think of-those listed as well as animals, grass, trees, the list goes on and on).

What food or drink would you suggest for us in each country-adults and kids (doesn't have to be the same thing!)? Also, what things could we all split (how many should we buy so we're not stuffed the third country in)?? We're not above getting one alcoholic drink and each taking a small drink out of it to test it (yes it grosses me out totally but we'd do it just to taste it). Also, what things to totally avoid??? We don't want to waste our time/money on something that's soooo gross we're just going to pitch it.

I think this is going to be a fun way to get stuff we wouldn't normally get as well as keep everyone looking forward to the next country. If you've tried this, we'd love to hear what worked/didn't work for you!

TIA!!!

Rosa Regale in Italy. Best wine ever! Get the chocolate that goes with it.

People like school bread in Norway bakery.

bubble tea in china

The Margaritas in Mexico are good.

Fish and chips in the UK.

I love the ice cream in France and the bakery there and the crepes.

the pretzels in germany are good..big too.

Funnel cake in America.

That is all I can think of right now.

Rice cream in Norway
funnel cake in US.
Kaki Gori (snow cone) in Japan
crepes in France - I like the one with strawberry jam
fish and chips in UK
frozen margarita near Mexico - can mix different flavors.

I haven't ate around the world, but we have drank around the world... my suggestion is to just go up to each of the lil carts and booths and see what they offer. Also don't forget to check out bakeries and quick service locations.

I hear a lot of people say they love the slushes in France... I haven't had them yet.

My ex's fave beers were Carlsberg in Norway and Kroenbourgh in France. Most of the countries offer beers, wines, and some even mixed drinks. So just take a look around and see what sparks your fancy.

I am almost embarrassed to ask this, but what does the Santas mean? Is it Santas from around the world?

Yes I'm going to take the kids to see the Santas (as many as they can handle) and hopefully the older boys (DH and his friend) can entertain themselves by eating/drinking around the world while waiting! :goodvibes

Thank you all so much for the tips! I really appreciate it!

To avoid getting full early on, I know you can split a counter service meal between all of you at each of the countries. Of course you could get a dessert at the countries that are most well known (France, I hear Norway has good bakery stuff too).

DH and I will be doing the same thing during our trip at Christmas and also plan to catch each country's Santa while we are at it. Here is what I have written down in my spreadsheet as possibilities for each place based on the menus and various recommendations on a thread I did about this a few months ago (may be the one you are referring to, but I think I did it on the Theme Parks, Attractions and Strategies" board.

Mexico - Tacos al carbon and strawberry margarita
China - Egg rolls or pot stickers and plum wine
Bermany - Bratwurst and beer
Japan - Tempura shrimp and soda/water
UK - Fish and chips and drink in the pub
France - Chocolate mousse/eclair and Grey Goose Citron Lemonade Slush
Morocco - Sangria
America - Funnel cake and soda/water
Germany - Chocolate hazelnut cake
Norway - Lefse and soda/water
Mexico - Churro and margarita

Now I know this sounds like a lot, it is just our plan. DH and I will split everything and we plan to start around 12:30 and end at 8:30 when Illuminations shows. Hopefully all will work out, because I am looking forward to sampling lots of food and drinks that I usually wouldn't try. We've allotted about $120 to do this (could spend A LOT less if we didn't try any alcohol, but what would be the fun in that?? :thumbsup2 ) It ends up being 7 alcoholic drinks, 10 different types of food (5 of them being desserts) and lots of walking to burn as much of it off as possible! :goodvibes

You hae a great plan!!

Hubby and I would do this.
Mexico - lime margarita, no food
China - Potstickers and plum wine
Germany - Bratwurst and beer
Japan - they had some great drinks outside tea/alcohol
UK - go inside the pub, see what is on the menu on the wall then order a couple beers. We usually like the cheese/fruit platter
France - Kir Royal or Grand Marnier slushie...both are so delicious you won't want to share.
Morocco - Sangria ..never tried this will have to next time
America - Funnel cake and soda/water

Norway - Kringla

this really isn't as much food as it sounds like. Most items I would share between couples, not all of you.
