:tink:Hello,
Well I have snagged a 7pm BOG dining reservation for our Halloween party night in October. Just wondering if this is a good idea or not?? Wondering the thoughts of those who have done it? We plan to arrive by 4pm and stay till midnight. Just my daughter and I and she is 19 so we will stay the whole time. We have been to many MNSSHP in the past so this is not our first one. I thought this may be something different for us and we will be done in plenty of time for the fireworks and second parade action.

Thanks for any advice from those that have eaten a sit down dinner during one of the special events at MK?

Parties are expensive enough. No way would I spend my time sitting in an expensive restaurant on top of that. Party specific offerings don't start until 7. Much better to eat between 4 and 7 then go enjoy the party.

We are wondering about eating during the party too. I think it really depends on what you plan on doing during the party. If you want to get pictures with all the characters and see every show obviously you shouldn't. If you are more laid back in your party going and find often you have a bunch of down time, maybe it's not such a bad idea. Ultimately I'd say come up with a list of things you want to do at the party and then see if you think going out to eat makes it so there are things you can't do that you wanted to.

I would have to say the first question would be if you have you dined at BOG before? It is a great experience (IMO) and if you feel like this is your one chance to be able to do so I would say go for. You have been to the party before, yes there will be new things, but since you have no kids with you are it seems like trick or treating through the park isn't in your plans it will give more time to do everything else.

All that being said you have the reservation now and it is easier to modify a reservation than it is to make a new one so around 45 days, 30 days, and 7 days, and the day before go and see if you can modify your reservations to slightly earlier in the evening so that you are walking out of BOG at 7 just in time for all the party festivities to start instead of going in.

In fact if doing characters meet and greets is high on your list IIRC one of the rare ones is right behind the carousel and you would be in a prime location to get in line before it gets crazy.

at BOG at 7pm?

No. Cancel it.

You will blow an hour+ eating while the party starts. The opening show starts just after 7 I believe, and if you want to get photos with exclusive characters you have to line up well before 7.

HOWEVER.

If you are just there to go on rides, get candy, see fireworks, and don't care about the show/character photos, then by all means eat there.

We're doing BOG during MNSSHP as well. We've been a few times, and it's just hubby and I. It was the only time we could get BOG so we thought why not? If it was my first ever party, I'd probably skip it, though.

FWIW, DD and I did BOG at around 6:30 during the party last year and thought it worked out nicely. We did rides from 4 pm until 6:30, took a nice break at BOG--made it in and out in about 45 minutes (we ordered just entrees, no dessert)--and then headed out to enjoy the party atmospherics and take in the first parade, fireworks, and the stage show.

Definitely would not be a good idea for me. I have spent too much money and have too many things I want to do at the party to spend time in BOG.

We (four adults) had a 7 pm BOG dinner reservation during MVMCP. We wanted to try BOG and it was the only time we could get for any meal there during our stay (free dining week). We also ordered just entrees, no dessert - and it all went fairly quickly. We had been to MNSSHP before, but this was our first MVMCP. I felt we had plenty of time to enjoy the things we wanted to do - parade, fireworks, favorite attractions. While I don't need to do the same again, I thought it was fun to eat there on a party night - and a nice break since we also arrived at 4.

We're dining there on our 10/13 party night. Our girls both want to dress as Belle, so seems appropriate to eat there. We are more in to rides and candy rather than lining up for characters.

I do not think it is ideal, but we actually have a BOG 6pm ressie on our Christmas party night. This is a girls trip and it is a friend's birthday. This is all she asked to do and it is the only time I could get! I think it will work in our situation and sounds like it will work in yours as well!

No way. Party tickets are too expensive to spend some of that valuable time sitting in a restaurant.

If it were me, I'd eat a big lunch and grab a hot dog or something quick if we got hungry during the party.

You're paying a premium to enjoy the party's offerings. I think it's crazy to give up a lot of party time to sit in a restaurant and pay for that too.

Table service meals can take a long time between seating, food and drinks being delivered, and then settling the check. I can't tell you how many times we've been stuck at a restaurant just trying to pay our bill.

Ok we talked about it and you are all right it is so expensive and we really need to be enjoying our time at the Party..
So I cancelled it today and booked us for breakfast at Boma the next day!~:p

So this will be better for us and we check out the next day at 11am anyway so I made a 10:30 breakfast!

We have eaten lunch and dinner at BOG before so it is not our first time. Thanks for the motivation! Love the DIS:cool1:
