We will be going to MVMCP on 12/12. I know the party is from 7-12. We are thinking of having a supper for either Chef Mickey or Crystal Palace for around 5pm that evening.

First off is 5:00 a good time or should I do a little later. I would like to be right at the party exactly at 7:00. Which is better for the party Chef Mickey or Crystal Palace? Why?

Also what time does the Magic Kingodm close prior to the party? If I have a PS during that time for Crystal Palace will they let me stay in the park until the start of the party?

This is our first time ever going in December so I am new to the whole party experience.

Any help would be greatly appreicated :)

This too was a dilema for us last year. The sooner you make the ressies the better. They fill up really fast. We tried for LTT for dinner they were totally booked last year. We ended up getting in to LTT just after the beginning of MVMCP Although dinner was good, it wasted time. I would definately get an early dinner so you can make sure you are ready to go at 7 for the party. We usually figure at least one hour at Chef Mickey's So 5 o'clock ressies would probable get you out by about 6:15 - 6:30. They you can take a leisurely walk to The MK or take the monorail around and waste a little bit of time.

If you are at the MK before the party starts, sometime during the day you need to turn your MVMCP ticket in and get a bracelet for the party. At park closing, they will not let anyone go past a certain point unless they are wearing a bracelet. So if you make CP ressies they will not make you leave unless you don't have your bracelet on. We really had no interest in going to CP for dinner so I don't remember if it was open before the party or not. We had eaten there before and the restaraunt just didn't impress me. The food wasn't that good and the character interaction was lacking to say the least. That is only my opinion, I know alot of people like it.

They have changed the characters at LTT so I don't know what that will be like now. I know colonial. We were there last December twice and the character interaction was great.

Hope this helps a little

Have a Disney day.

If it's the same as the past 2 years, you can get into MK at 4:00 with your MVMCP ticket and get your bracelet. You will not have to leave the park at 6:00 when it closes. Last year they asked the guests with bracelets to go to Tomorrowland until 7:00 while they cleared the park. We arrived about 4:30 last year and the lines were short. We rode until 6:00, watched the 6:00 fireworks and then went to Tomorrowland and rode SM & Buzz. Then headed back to Fantasyland at 7:00, where we got our picture taken at Small World and did the rides back there with no line.

I had heard that you could arrive at the park earlier that 7pm to be admitted. Is this true? When I purchased my tickets I was told to be there at 6:30 (not any earlier) to wait for when the gates opened. Which is the case? Are people let in earlier than 7? Please answer if you know!! Thanks.

jeankeri: We went for the first time last year. We were at the gates at 5pm, put in our party ticket and were given wrist bands. Went to Tommorrowland and rode rides around there until 7pm, then headed to Fantasyland to get our pictures taken. It was great!!!

Last year we were admitted at 4:30pm with only our MVMCP tickets and got our wristbands, see my post above for details.

Thank you for the info re: entry time! My boys are so excited! I don't think they would want to leave Tomorrowland even when the party starts! Besides sit down meals at LTT, CP & CRT, are the counter service stops open during MVMCP?

I believe only LTT is open during MVMCP, CRT & CP close before MVMCP starts (they probably take PS up to 5:30-6:00pm). Counter service open last year: Pecos Bill, Westward Ho, Turkey Leg Cart, Diamond Horseshoe, Scuttle's Landing, Mrs. Pott's Cupboard, Cosmic Rays, Launching Pad.

Yep, I got a PS at CP at 5:35p for MVMCP 2 years ago. Had to hang out right out front right till 7:00P before they'd let us roam the park/party...so it's definitely an eating option party nights.
