They aren't taking reservations yet, they will start August 5th or 6th.

Can't wait to hear a review! Try the cantaloupe pizza for me! I'm dying to know how that one is.

Have an invitation to the official opening reception on August 5th.

Will report back after that.

Don't have time for a full review at the moment, but will try later tonight.

One word: FRESH!! We tried pasta, 3 kind of pizza, a few appetizers, dessert, and coffee. This restuarant is doing something right :upsidedow

Is there a seperate kids menu? We are going in September and are on the Regular Dining plan.

Alright I have a few minutes before I have to jet off to work, but I'll get in as much as I can.

We arrived at Via Napoli for our special event around 11:30 am and were the first guests (ever!) to be seated, pretty cool. Managers were around to greet us and everyone was very polite and enthusiastic, welcoming us in Italian.

The inside is lovely, mostly golds and oranges. The windows are strategically placed; you can't see anything outside the Italy pavilion, so you are totally immersed. The back windows are high on the wall so you can only see the clouds. It's very open and bright, although I wonder how this would be at night time. The waiting room is very small; there were two long benches and a couple of chairs. I imagine this will be a problem when they're in the walk-up stage as the line might be very long and the wait outside would be miserable in this heat.

ANYWAYS, onto the food

When we were seated, we were offered drinks (coke products or fruit water). Get the fruit water!! It's light and refreshing and has fruit chunks inside. Sounds weird, but was nice. There were 3 flavors- lemon, orange, or strawberry. They let us sample all three, and we liked strawberry best.

The menu was pre-set so we got whatever they brought out.

Appetizers- We had 2 to share: the Contadino Salad which was so-so. The dressing was nice but it was a boring salad. Wouldn't waste my money. We also had another appetizer that I don't see on the previously posted menu. It had lentils, eggplants, and some other veggies in a sweet sauce. The name started with an "N" I believe, and was served with wafers/dry bread. We all loved it.

Entrees- 4 total: individual margherita which was lovely. Italian pizza is much different than American pizza. There was less sauce; rather the tomatoes were chunky and placed strategically on the dough. The mozzarella cheese was very fresh and was in dollops rather than covering the whole pizza. There was also fresh basil which added a lot. This was my favorite entree. The secon was an individual Quattro Stagioni, which had eggplant, artichokes, prosciutto, mushrooms. I'm not a fan of any of that so I took a bite and passed on that. No of us was too fond. The third entree was a large pepperoni pizza; it had 6 HUGE slices. The waitress said it is meant for 2 but it could easily feed 3-4. This was delicious and will be a crowd pleaser. Something I found interesting was that they used mini, dime sized pepperonis, different than how we do it in America. They had a nice bite to them. This was more similar to American pizza with the sauce and cheese covering everything, but I think you'd miss out on a lot if you only order this. The final entree was Fusilloni Trapanese, and this was lovely. Again, there were tomato chunks rather than a thick sauce and the flavors of every herb and spice could be tasted. Also had fresh parmesan on top which added a lot.

Desserts- 2 to share: the Tiramisu was very rich and creamy, different from the one I had at Tutto Italia. It wasn't as wet as Tiramisu often is, but more sweet and milky. I'm not a big tiramisu fan, but I'd get this again. We also had Zeppole di Catarina, which were like mini donuts with chocolate dipping sauce and whipped cream. They are served warm, and are melt in your mouth. They weren't coated with sugar or any glaze, but they were still a delectable dessert. There were probably about 10 of them total. We were also offered coffee, capuccino, and espresso. I thought the espresso tasted like nail polish removed:lmao: but hey, I don't normally drink it straight.

There was a long table that seats 20 in the center of the restaurant that they called the community table. They plan to use this for large parties or solo travelers. This would be more of a place for walk-ups who don't mind sharing a table with strangers.

Anyways, all in all we LOVED IT! This would be a great place for a group of ladies to go and share meals and have a few glasses of wine. The eye candy isn't bad either ;)

So I understand that this restaurant takes a TS credit. Also reviewed the menu and it has 3 sizes to their pizza. Does anyone know if which size is covered under the DDP/TS credit? Assuming that it would be the entree?

TIA :surfweb:
