Eating at Resort restaurants?

Is it possible to eat at restaurants located inside resorts if you are staying offsite and do not have a park hopper option? Thanks so much!

You can certainly eat at resort restaurants, such as O’hana at the Poly, but if you mean restaurants inside of parks, you may not without a ticket for the park.

Park hoppers have nothing to do with resorts. Park hopper means you can hop from park to park.

ANYONE can visit the resorts.

Yes, as others mentioned you just can't enter a park to eat without a ticket. There are some fairly decent resort restaurants that we've enjoyed in the past--California Grill, Yachtsman, The Wave, etc., but they can be pricey.

If at Magic Kingdom you can get to Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Contemporary resorts via the monorail, and eat at any of the restaurants at those resorts. Keep in mind you'll need reservations for some, especially 'Ohana at Polynesian, California Grill at Contemporary and Narcoossees at Grand Floridian. Probably a good idea to make reservations wherever you decide to eat.

The ones located in the Contemporary, the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian are. Don't forge to make Advance Dining Reservations.

You can eat and visit at any resort at Disneyworld. You can use the Disney transport to get there as well. The only thing you need a ticket for is getting into the parks. You can't use the pool at the resorts, but you can play in the arcade, shop in the gift shops, etc.

Anyone who visits Disney is a guest whether or not they are staying in a Disney hotel or in the parks.

All of the Disney resorts are open to the public. You can dine at any of the restaurants, walk around and explore, shop, and use the recreational facilities (except for the pools). All resorts are outside of the theme parks, so you don't need a ticket to access any of them. You can use Disney's monorails, boats and buses to travel around Disney World.

Because there are so many resorts (and resort restaurants) and they're spread out over a 40+ mile area, you'll want to figure out which restaurants you'd like to try, and then figure out how to get there. As mentioned above, only three resorts are on the monorail line. There are several fine restaurants in the Epcot area resorts, and you can catch a bus from MK to those resorts. Lots of really fun places to eat at Disney Springs, too.

Reservations were mentioned; if you choose to eat at Kona Cafe at the Poly, reservations are a must, or you will be turned away. It happened to us in Nov when we tried to go there for breakfast and were denied because we hadn't made a reservation, after doing walk-ins there for years.

It's no different than eating at a resort anywhere (other than an all-inclusive).

We used to live on Oahu, and almost every weekend went to Waikiki and hung out and ate at resorts there!

To repeat others, yes, this is ok to do and pretty common. There are only the three resorts accessible by Monorail (or by boat in some cases), but they are the high-end ones and they have good restaurants. If you are wanting a relatively quick and casual lunch, Kona Cafe at the Poly is pretty good (though I haven't been there in a while I recommend the Sticky Wings). Do keep in mind that it can take a little time to travel to the resort of choice, eat, and return to MK, so give yourself some padding between plans. Oh, and as others have said, a reservation is always recommended. Enjoy!

You can dine anywhere you like in terms of the resorts, provided you have reservations. Security always asks us, but never have a problem letting us through once they know we're dining on premises.
