Hi! We are going to MNSSHP in October. We have APs so gtting into the park isn't a problem. Would it make more sense to go to the park early and get an ADR around 4:30 or 5:00 or just go later and grab QS?

Do all of the Halloween festivities start right at 7:00?

Thanks!

We love having an early TS dinner on party nights. That gets us far enough into the park that we never have to experience the traffic of day guests leaving just as the party guests are entering.

We typically choose TS because we have been in the park all day already anyway and need some down time off our feet to regroup. If you have been resting all day, CS would also work.

Halloween stuff should start right at 7.

If you want to do M&G with any of the more coveted characters, you want to be done eating so you can go line up for them at 5:30 or 6:00..... 7 Dwarves, Jack Sparrow, etc
If you don't care about those, then yes, a 5 pm dinner is a nice way to start the party.

Thanks! Wasn't really thinking about that!

We were there on Halloween 2 years ago and got a picture with the 7 dwarfs which was so much fun! My kids are 5 and probably wouldn't have to much desire for Jack Sparrow or Jack and Sally. Are there other characters only on Halloween that I should consider?

I haven't done it the last few years - so I'm not sure who's currently meeting at the party - maybe Maleficent. We got pics with the old her, Dr Facilier and Queen of hearts after the stage show.... You'll want to follow the reports of the people who go to the parties before you to get the scoop on when and where to go for the easiest meets

Yeah, this was nice while it lasted. Maleficent was not an option last year unless you were interested in paying even more for the privilege, and there are rumors that this year the "mingle" portion of Mix & Mingle may be no more.

That aside, I would focus on whatever villains may be offered as they are generally rare outside of MNSSHP.

Mingle didn't exist last year either sadly. For both parties I've done i've had an early adr around 4 or 5. Last year I had BOG at 5:45 which was a little late, this year attempting a 4:20 CRT. One thing though to remember is that some places are not open after 7pm (some are even closed before 7pm) so if theres things you really want to do in MK and its your only MK day make sure you prepare for having to do them between 4 and 7, I didn't know they closed the shop that sold Stitch merchandise and its one of my favorite stops.

Yeah I'm kinda foggy on that (and I went last year!). I thought there were some last year but I could definitely be wrong.

ETA: Thinking about it more, you're right. I didn't even go near the castle stage and I'm sure it's because I'd seen the show a few times and knew there was no point to trying to meet someone I'd missed before.

In the past we go as soon as they let us in -- I think 4:30 (we are ready and waiting) and have an early reservation at The Plaza. Remember many of the TS restaurants are closed during the party. It's great going early, taking our time walking down Main Street, stopping for quick early dinner, and off we go. Always gotten to do everything we wanted to. Lines between 4:30 and 7:30 are very quick :) On the MNSSHP we never do anything during the day -- we just chill, have late breakfast and start getting ready to head out.

Close. It's been 4:00p or a little earlier for a number of years now.

We usually grab a light dinner at the hotel, get our costumes on and head out to the party around 6pm. You can always pick something up at a quick service at MK but you don't want to miss a minute of the party!

Don't forget that Liberty Tree Tavern will be down for rehab during the parties this year, so it will be harder to get an inside the park TS ADR. Don't know if they plan on opening anything temporarily like they ahve in the past (Diamond Horseshoe area, old Tortuga Tavern, etc).

They had a dance party thing in the crystal palace i think it was but it wasnt m&g from what i understand. It was done so hush hush how they just kept removing things last year I hope things are more open this year as to what we get and what we dont though regardless i'll find it fun i know.

Will BOG be open?

I did BOG at 5:45pm last year. It has a special Halloween desert a blood orange cupcake that was quite good.

We don't like to waste our precious Halloween party hours eating. We will have a big lunch at a resort or DTD and then, at the party, buy a waffle sandwich at Sleepy Hollow, stake out a good parade viewing spot, and eat our "dinner" while waiting to see Boo to You. Last year we grabbed a quick hot dog at Casey's Corner right at closing, too. I know some people prefer to do the parks with a more relaxed attitude, but my daughter and I, who wait impatiently all year for the big Halloween party, try to maximize park touring time.

While on the subject, and not to hijack, but are all the CS restaurants open during the party? We usually go during slower seasons and have had problems finding dinner at MK because everything except Casey's was closed a good 2 hours before Wishes! We're probably doing at least one party this year, but I'm worried about where we can grab a quick bite to eat while waiting for the parade. We don't want to waste a ton of time on food, but if we get in around 4 and party until midnight, we'll need to eat something.

only a few are open during party, i know pinochio house is as well as pecos bills, but am unsure what else is.

If we have APs, can we go in before 4? How, when, and where would we need to get our wristbands? It just seems like going at 3:30 would result in a shorter entrance line, but I'm not sure.
