I wasn't sure which board to post this on, so I decided on this one rather than the Rest. board. After all, I guess we who frequent this board are in a secret society of penny pinchers. :D Now to my question: I just joined the Entertainment club and they have a coupon for; buy any entree and get a 2nd of equal or lesser value for free. This is a great deal! The thing is, we have a family of 3 (DH, DS(10) and myself). I have heard that the portions are huge. My DS and I could split an entree here. What will they do if we only ordered one entree and got one free for 3 people? We would still be ordering 3 drinks and most likely dessert. :) We would be tipping for total bill, before discount. Do you think they would give us a hard time about this? Am I rewriting the definition of cheapskate with this one? :D :D Honest opinions please! I don't want to get there and be embarrassed. Thanks for your advice.

Heres the way they work the EB coupons, If you buy 3 meals on 1 restaurant bill, and want to apply a EB coupon, they take off the Smallest dollar amount item of the 3.

However you can Buy entrees for Two Adults on 1 bill then ask for second bill for childs dinner. Then pay childs bill 1st, then present 2nd bill with coupon. Then you will only be paying for 1 adult and 1 child.

About spitting, every 10yr. boy I know could eat 2 adult dinners. And portion size is subjective, everyones idea of a portion is different.

We found that buffets fit everyones needs at WDW.

ps. Not sure what HOB is though!

I bleieve EB rules (my book is out in the car) state that each group may only get one check..and that the lower is always taken off. If our area, they adhere to that. However, child's meals are not usually counted, as the lower item, and I'm sure there are some restaurants who are willing to work with you. They are in a business, however, and want to make money.

Most 10 year olds I know, are not really heavy eaters, and children's meals work. If you do decide to split, be sure your less expensive entree is not just an adult hamburger..because that's most likely what will come off the bill.

I've spent a 1 1/2 yrs. trying to lose weight after spending 3 months in bed prior to back surgery, so I have gotten used to not eating a lot. I would much prefer the dessert myself. :) My DS will probably want a salad and dessert, so I think one entree will be more than enough for the two of us. My son never orders off the childs menu, because he has a more adult palate. The problem is, between the 2 of us we always have a lot of food left over. I wouldn't hesitate to do this at a restaurant without the coupon. I'm just wondering how they will react to us only ordering 2 entrees for 3 people, with the one entree being free. Is this stretching the coupon too far?

Not at all..most places don't have a plate sharing charge..but even if they did, you would prob still come out ahead.
