Heading down in August and can book ADRs tomorrow. Looking for a place at Boardwalk to eat one night. Don't want to go Flying Fish as it requires two dining credits on plan. Anyone have a suggestion? How is the brew house?

I know this isn't exactly on the boardwalk, but we ate at Garden Grove in the Swan and the boardwalk is just a short walk away from the hotel. Love it there.

Will you not have park tickets? I ask because Epcot is a very short walk away from the Boardwalk and really opens up your options (Chef's de France, Rose & Crown, etc). I don't like everything on their menu but the chicken and waffles from ESPN Club is pretty solid. Cape May at Y&B Club is good. Personally, I;m not a fan of Big River Grille.

My husband and I had a very late arrival followed by a very long check in at the Swan in Dec. and we had a really nice dinner at the Big River Grill. I had to ask if they were still open because the outside patio was empty but they were happy to seat and serve us. It had to be after 9:30 but they never rushed us and it was a very enjoyable start to our vacation.
Since it was a Saturday night it was also very entertaining people watching as they strolled (stumbled) along the Boardwalk. We then walked around the lake before we called it a night.

Forgot to mention no ADRs required. For us that was an added bonus because flying in during the winter is always iffy on weather and I would hate to start my vacation off with having to pay $20 for a missed ADR.

I've eaten at Big River with no ADR before. The food was perfectly fine and the craft beer was very good. Probably not the most exciting meal ever, but it was close and easy. I'd recommend it if you're already in the area.

You cannot make ADR's at Big River Grille through Disney (you can contact the restaurant directly for reservations). Every time we ate there we were given a pager if there was a wait and we strolled the Boardwalk close by until the pager went off.

I like the Big River Grill mainly to have a beer in the outdoor section with an appetizer. Have you looked into the LaTratoria del Forno. We enjoyed it for the first time a few weeks ago. I loved the eggplant rolatini and my son had the pasta with a meaty bolongnese. Oh and the starter, Italian charcuterie, very tasty!

If you are on Dining plan, I would not waste a TS on any place there. Brew place had decent beer, but both times I went the food was pretty eh. ESPN has gotten so bad it's sad. Service is horrible (in there with 4 other tables, it took us 1.5 hours after we ate to get our bill), food is awful, not worth a quarter of what they charge. That all said, the bakery has GREAT food for a QS credit. For TS at the Boardwalk, I'd head over to like Cape May or somewhere at the Beach Club, or if you have park tickets, head for Epcot like has been mentioned.

I would head to Epcot personally. We have been to Big River Grill once before, and the food wasn't that good and the beer worse (might be fine if you like IPAs or lighter beers but we don't), and although we ate at ESPN this past November it obviously was pretty unmemorable as I have no clue what any of us ate or how we felt about it.

We liked Trattoria al Forno, food was good and service was excellent. I don't know if I'd make a special trip for it though, we were staying at BW so it was very convenient on a stormy night when our other dinner plans got cancelled.
I would not go back to Big River Grille (this was not the first time there). My food was disappointing and the service was really lacking. I did like sitting out on the boardwalk though.
