Hello! My DH husband and I got back from the Food Fest Last week. Again it was wonderful. This is our 6th Food and Wine Fest and we will be back next year. We live in Southern California and came back to evacuations but we are two of the lucky ones and are home and now can do our reviews for you. I want to thank everyone who puts reviews on here. We use them and feel like if ever vacation was this easy to plan from all the help on the DIS it would be great!
We have every booth coverd so this will come in parts. We also went to two PFTS and the South African Wine Event that we will send of in other reviews!
Jason's and my goal was to try everything and with only two people for 8 days and 3 for the last two we did really well!
It is a tradition to start at Mexico! Why???!!! One word!
CHILAQUILES!
One of the few food items that doesn't change every year and they are GREAT!
Then comes Spain!
We had the Spicy Calamari Stew and Saffron Rice
We both liked this A LOT!
We had the Bodegas Julian Chivite Gran Feudo Rose with this and loved it!
After this is Ireland! How they come up with the way the "world" is set up I'll never know!
Even in my crazy non-geography head it doesn't make sense but hey, it's fun!
We had We had Boxty with bacon and a big slab of butter, if it wasn't 95 with 95% humidity I could have eaten this all day -POTATOES, BACON AND BUTTER ! YUM!
We also had a Guinness or as I call it Roast Beef in a glass!
And the Frozen Bailey's Irish Coffee - you had to watch this - I could have been out with two of these in the heat but they were so GOOD!
No pic sorry!
Who knew China was next to Ireland?? DISNEY!
This was called Chicken Sha Cha - I give it a thumbs down- just teriyaki chicken sticks!
I remember it being better last year! I had an ice tea here!
India was next!
The Curried Butternut Soup is Great and the Samosa was OK!@
We tried a Sauvignon Blanc from India that was sweet but good!
No soup picture!
WOW! Then we find ourselves in South Africa!
Durban Chicken - Again another Chicken Stick - just ok!
Bobotie - Which Jason loved but Dani makes homemade and I wouldn't even try this!
The wine was called Bored Doe and it was actually good for the crazy name! And an ok Sav. Blanc!
