I have an ADR at Biergarten that I'm thinking of canceling in favor of snacking at the different food kiosks around WS. We've never eaten at Biergarten and I was kinda looking forward to the music and dancing. We can do that anytime though. So I was wondering what others have done and if this is a good idea.

This is a great idea! We do this every year and never book any ADRs for Epcot during the festival. We aim to do at least 3 meals snacking around the world. There are so many booths and my tummy can only hold so much at once! I would definitely cancel Biergarten. Like you said, you can do that anytime.

We snacked around the world for F&W and it was great.
Not everything was great, but it was still wonderful.
Plus, it's just easier to walk around and enjoy yourself snacking instead of stuffing yourself with a buffet then trying to role around the park.
Although I've heard great things about Biergarten (but also have heard it's not as good as it used to be).
Go to EPCOT 2 days, 1 for munching around the world and once for trying Biergarten for dinner.

Keep in mind that if you are on the dining plan, the snack credits (usually) can be used for all the items at F&W, except alcohol, regardless of price.

We take 3 days to snack around the world at the F&W fest. We do try everything at the booths but we (hubby & I) do share each item so we just have a taste. Breaking it into 3 days gives you time to enjoy each tidbit without being totally stuffed. Even doing a third of the way around can be quite a bit of food.

We snack our way around the showcase but usually get at least one CS meal as well, especially for our hungry teen. I don't think we could enjoy F & W and then sit down to a TS meal.

Have a lovely time.

:)

Do the snacks that are offered during F & W count on your dining plan? After reading this thread I am thinking that I might cancel our Coral Reef reservation in favor of snacking around the world.

Most of the tastings count as snack credits, yes (if they're under $5.00 I think).

And you would be surprised how full you can get if you stop to try everything that looks good. No way would you need dinner if you plan to taste more than...say...3 things. It's GREAT fun. We take the kids to one of the kid care locations and have done this for the past 3 years. Delish!

Snacking around the world is a great way to try everything. We'll be doing it next week:cool1:...if you're not sure if you'll like something then split it with whomever you are with and if you like it then get it next time by.

It's a good way to do F&W....we did stop at the Liberty Inn mid day to share some chicken and a burger though....so much rich food at the kiosk that we figured we needed to counteract some of it LOL We also book a late supper at Garden Grill...but I could see cancelling it and snacking more too.

We share just about everything we try....so between 7 of us, trying 3 things wouldn't fill us up LOL BUT, once we find something we like....many times we'll all get our own individual portion LOL

We will be snacking are way around, a little each day since we have ADRs each day for dinner. But we did that last year and was great. One year I want to go with out ADR's some days and spend the whole day doing the snack around. WOW only 23 day till F & W Fest :hippie::cool1::hippie:

I would not cancel Beirgarten for F&W samplings...for one thing it would take a lot of samplings to fill us up since they are just 2 bite treats and the cost is expensive.

It is important to us do to a sit down meal once a day for dinner and use the F&W as a snack/lunch

I would cancel the ADR's. That happened to my husband & I two years ago. We were so stuffed we just canceled...We are going again nextg week!!

It takes us a good 4-5 times of snacking around the Fest to cover all the stuff we want to try. Like Nikki said,we usually do it at lunch time & have a sit-down dinner at night.

If you only have the one time slot available & have to choose between the Festival & Biergarten, I would definately choose the Festival. Like you said, Biergarten will always be there. The Fest is lots of fun & only happens once a year.

Thanks everyone for confirming what I thought might be fun. I think we will cancel the Biergarten ADR as it was for lunch. Maybe we'll have a sit down meal for dinner. You guys are great!!:thumbsup2

For the past couple of years, all food items (and non-alcoholic beverages) have been available for snack credits, regardless of the cost of the item. The most expensive food item offered is the lobster roll at the America booth. Last year it cost about $7.50 and yes, you could get it with a snack credit.
