Both look delicious!

I just snuck in and tasted the cheeseburger meat, it was good , kinda a bit like mandwich, but not lol. I wasn't thrilled about the recipe because it has tons of sodium in it with that soup mix, but I happened to have a pack and the boys thought it sounded delish, sooo the boys get what the boys want LOL.

Can't wait to try the shrimp too, I have whipping cream but I don't usually keep that on hand because of fat content. After its gone, I do it with half and half if we like it. Im sure it will be just fine with it .

I love that you made tamales tinkmom!! Good for you!!!

I might do your BBQ pizza this week, I have everything on hand, even the sweet baby rays.

We are having ground beef taco salad bowls for dinner. Nothing that fancy for us either tonight.

Well friends, I just subscribed to an online meal planning/ grocery list service. It is $5 a month, but you can pick what store you shop, how many you cook for, etc. We shall see how it works out... :confused3

Has anyone else done this before?

Ok. I need to make a list for this week. I am craving take out and wayyy to close to texting hubby to bring home Chinese. I'll regret it as soon as I eat it. We are starting a landscaping project in the back yard (long story.. see my post about animals DESTROYING my lawn that I made today:sad2:). So I am going to need to slash the budget to get that done without dipping into savings.

If I make up a menu for this week now it will be a committment to stay away from restaurants and take out this week. Here goes..

Tonight.. Broccoli/Cheese chicken, rice, salad.

Tuesday.. Tofu parmesean, Salad.

Wednesday.. Veggie Burgers, Hamburgers, Broccoli and cheese sauce

Thursday.. Breakfast for dinner (Eggs, Ham, Toast, Fruit Smoothies)

Friday.. Something with chicken thighs.. will edit later when I decide what. Fish for dd,

Saturday Easter dinner at SIL's

Sunday Easter dinner at my parents.

There.. take out averted.:woohoo:

Monday: Sticky baked drumsticks, succotash

Wednesday: Salmon poached in orange juice, asparagus, leftover rice

Might also make a pot of 5 can soup to take for lunches this week

yesterday I worked, so I prepared in advance a tray of lasagna, pre-cooked meatballs. I started my sauce at 6am- popped in the meatballs to simmer. Dh stirrs every hour then shuts off and restarts when I'm on the way home. It was great to pop the lasagna in the oven and not think about dinner. I planned texas toast but forgot to buy it and noticed that several crescent rolls were close to expiring later this month so I made some of those and dinner was done.

Mon dh is making hamburgers, fries and salad.
Tues-baked chicken, rice, corn and salad.
weds soccer practice so dh will reheat the lasagna for dd#2 & dh and dd#1 makes cresent pizza for herself.
Thurs chicken fajitas
friday hors d'hoerves for dinner with a side salad
saturday steak, baked potatoe veggies

I am so glad I found this thread!! So many great ideas and this perfect for my BFF who's family is coming on there first WDW vacation with next summer and she wants ways to save...eat more at home...was my first piece of advice and now I have you guys to back me up!! Thanks!

Pasta with meat sauce & biscuits
Cheeseburger & Fries
Chicken Salads (with left over chicken from the fajitas)
Chili & Cornbread
and leftovers of whatever, as I will be getting things ready for Easter!

Been working on my grocery list for next week so thought I would go ahead and post my meals for next week. While they are listed with days, that doesn't mean they will be made that day or not. I constantly mix up my days depending on how I am feeling. I also have been having to plan more meals as I am spending more time at home with it being the end of the semester. The poor boyfriend is really lonely at this time :lmao: .

Wednesday: Spicy Lemon Garlic Shrimp, Green Beans, Copycat Red Lobster Biscuits.

Friday: Ribeye Steaks, Baked Potatoes, Parmesan Spinach

Saturday: Spaghetti and Meatballs, Garlic Bread

Sunday: Easter! Baked Ham, Deviled Eggs, Rolls, Southern Green Beans, Baked Sweet Potatoes with toppings, and Strawberry Shortcake (at least, that is the current menu).

Tuesday: Tacos, Mexican Rice

Tonight was chicken cutlets and WDW au gratin potatoes from Allears. Everyone loved them!

Tues - use leftover chicken and make quesadillas

Wed - baked ziti

Thurs - leftover baked ziti because we might be having some kids sleepover and I know they will like that. If they don't sleepover then we'll have lentils with pasta

Fri - homemade pizza

Sat - baked ziti if we don't have it on Thurs or cheesesteaks

Easter - going to inlaws, we are bringing dessert. Cheesecake from Costco and making cupcakes or brownies

Tonight we are having leftovers. We have stir fried chicken paprikash and cheesy ham and hash brown casserole left to eat up.

Monday - We barbecued burgers. Yum!

Tuesday - We're having tacos but instead of tortilla shells, I am going to make some of the pizza crust flatbreads that were mentioned on here. Can't wait to try them!

Wednesday - Will just be DS17 and me so probably sandwiches of some sort.

Thursday - Going to visit DS21 so will be eating dinner on our way home.

Friday - Payday! More than likely, dinner out with friends.

Saturday - We're going to a funeral so probably potluck food.

Sunday - Thinking of doing a prime rib for Easter since they just went on sale. Maybe baked potatoes and asparagus.

We used to eat out seven nights a week but have been cutting back over the last month and now we're about 50/50.

I am making indoor grilled hamburgers for dinner tonight because we have hail outside! I have sent him out in rain but never hail lol
Tonight I want to make haystack onion and zuchinni for the side. I am picking through coupons and adjusting my list. Shopping is tomorrow.

So far my ideas for the week are:
taco salad last night
today hamburgers and onion and zuchinni haystacks
Groupon sushi for lunch and gilatto for dessert
peppered honey salmon
lamb steaks or chops scratch the lamb. Because it's Easter it's crazy expensive!
chicken and pork enchilladas with the left over frozen tamale meat
ham, ham, ham! SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY lol
sides: mandarin orange fluff, smashed potatoes with garlic and heavy cream, yams with marshmellows, green beans (the fresh kind) devilled eggs and some other stuff I am sure I forgot.

Yup that's me:thumbsup2 Thanks for reading!

It was good (the tamale casserole) but now I know how to make actual tamales. I might have to try using the masa in a casserole form. I still have a half a bag left. Either that or I am going to try to make my own tortillas. But I don't have a tortilla press.
