We had a great time meeting and chatting with the current manager, Jeff, at Big Thunder BBQ earlier today. He stopped by our table when he noticed my Club 33 baseball cap that I was wearing. He asked about our experience there so I told him about my special birthday lunch there last September. Then he says he was the manager at Club 33 back then up to the remodel. We talked about the changes and he shared the tidbit about how the Club couldn't keep the elevator in working order as it wouldn't be ADA compliant by today's standards. I told him that makes sense but that it's still sad that it's no longer operational.

Anyway, he said he's enjoying his new gig and he wishes more guests were familiar with the BBQ so they would have even more patrons. They're working hard to keep the prices down as the costs of meats keep rising and they're working to improve upon the ribs and make it more tender.

I promised him that I'll do my part in promoting it. So, for those of you who have been asking where to eat or whether to try Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, I say go. The only downside is you're guaranteed to be overstuffed with all that yummy food. I personally like dipping the BBQ chicken in the beans but that's just me.

Big Thunder Ranch BBQ is one of my dh's favorite places to eat....No...strike that. It IS his favorite place to eat. In fact, Ive been pushing him to try all new places on our next trip. He's fine with that, as long as we can still eat at BTRBBQ.

My family eats there almost every trip! We love it! Great food and entertainment! I Would encourage anyone and everyone to give it a try.

AGREE !! eat at Big Thunder Ranch BBQ 'coz' it's GOOD and FUN. Don't skip the sides...all good. :thumbsup2

We also love BTRBBQ, we try to eat there every time we go but mat have to skip it this time around , we will have to see if we have the time. Going to do a kick back trip and enjoy DD.

I have always wanted to try it so perhaps in Oct. I will. A couple of questions; do you need reservations? And we have a vegetarian in our party. Do they have a veggie menu or could she grab something elsewhere and bring it in to BTRBBQ?

We've never been but at my DH's insistence reservations have been made for our late Sept trip. We're excited to try it!

I'm not sure there are good veggie options... The cornbread? I do know that your friend could grab a meal somewhere else and bring it to the restaurant. They made us know about that before we sat down during out last trip. That's exactly what I did for DD and no one minded a bit!

As for the reservation, it probably depends on the day. We went a the opening bell for lunch and there were tons of open tables - even when we left. Not sure about dinner though.

Have a great trip!

I would suggest a reservation for dinner. There have been times that we've had them and still had to wait 20-30 minutes. That was our experience last Oct.

They have a grilled veggie option, I believe.

They have a veggie menu. Theones in our group really love them. In fact, my son usually requests the veggie version, then he shares the veggies with us, and we share the meat!

The veggies skewers are pretty yummy, we aren't big Tofu fans but whatever they do to it there makes it taste really good.

A CM gave us a tip one time to tell the CM at the counter when you check in that you would like to order the veggie skewers, they take about 20 minutes to cook, so if you order them when you check in they will be ready when all the other items are brought to the table.

I was thinking about trying in September- With all these great reviews its very tempting!

I was on disney.com looking at making reservations but was unclear on the pricing. Could anyone tell me is there a difference in the cost for lunch vs dinner? Thanks!

Yes, there is a price difference between lunch and dinner. I remember prices being around 19.99 for lunch and 24.99 for dinner. During summer and other peak times though, I believe those prices get up to 23.99 for lunch and 29.99 for dinner. As far as I have heard, the only other differences between lunch and dinner is that at dinner you can also get corn on the cob and sausage and these items are not available at lunch.

We ate dinner there last Friday. It is one of our favorites. I ask for a side of bar-b-que sauce to dip the chicken in. The corn wheels are so tender and buttery and delicious. The sausage was really good. We all loved the cornbread. My son ordered the vegetarian skewers and said they were excellent.

We love eating at Big Thunder Ranch. We always go there for lunch and we always go there without reservations. We eat late lunch so typically it works out for us.

We are goin there in October, so If I see Jeff I will tell him I saw this post!

We decided to try it for a late lunch, walked up with no reservation. Good food and cool, shaded outdoor seating although you might have to share a table with another family. We didn't mind because DH likes to talk! DD enjoyed it because she got picked along with other kids to join the singers onstage and be part of the entertainment!

You don't have to tell me twice. Or once. The price is a little up there, but the food is always good for a BBQ lover like me. Notice, I said BBQ lover, not BBQ snob. It's not the best BBQ in the world, but it is BBQ nonetheless. And so I love it!!!! Oh, and the cornbread ain't bad either :)
