Easyjet: do we pay for car seats and a pushchair?

We're planning on flying with Easyjet which we've done before but we've never had to take car seats with us and we didn't take DD's pushchair last time either. We'll need a booster for DD6 and a car seat and pushchair for DS1.
The thing is I can't find an answer to this on Easyjet's website. I'm pretty sure we can take the Maclaren pushchair free as I read that on another thread but what about car seats?
Any info much appreciated!

Sarah, you certianly don't pay for pushchairs...but I don't know about car seats I'm afraid.

Not sure on carseats tbh - you can defo take your pushchair free though. I know Ryanair are now charging for all luggage including pushchairs!!! Not that it helps you.

I think I'd ring the airline to check.

I have to say we had a nightmare when we flew last June with Easyjet. DD was 2 and I wondered about her car seat so I rang customer services who advised because she had her own seat (due to her age) we would have to take her car seat with us. Anyhow to cut a very long story short, we turned up at Newcastle Airport with car seat, pushchair, luggage etc only to be told we didn't need the car seat and it would have to go in the hold I was not impressed, I had no way of getting someone to come and pick it up so we ended up taking it all the way to DLP with us and back again and during the course of the flight it was damaged in the hold and basically Easyjet took no responsibility as we chose to take it with us I was so angry.

Anyhow that doesn't help you much so apologies for that xx

do you need a carseat. my dd just turned two when i brought her to disneyland and we didnt need a carseat for her own seat on the plane.

I've travelled with easyjet taking both 2 pushchairs and a car seat and didn't pay for either. We always keep the pushchair until boarding and leave it at the stairs of the plane. After checking in our cases we were directed to another desk where they took the car seat to be placed in the hold. Ours was fine but I but there is no guarantee it won't be damaged.

I still would check tbh reason being with the economic climate as it is a lot of 'low cost' airlines are stinging you for 'extras' - like I said with Ryanair! It may only be a matter of time before Easyjet go the same way with carseats etc.

Thanks everyone! I have to take the car seats because we're hiring a car at the other end so there's really no choice.
It's great that we shouldn't have to pay but I may well ring them and check. I'll let you know what the outcome is!

I emailed Easyjet today and this was their reply:
Dear Mrs Croote,

Thank you for contacting us.

I am happy to confirm that pushchairs, prams, car seats and travel cots do not form part of your baggage allowance and therefore are carried for free, provided that the infant/child is travelling as well. However, we do not offer a separate baggage allowance for infants.

Pushchairs, buggies, car seats and travel cots can be taken right up to the aircraft, where they will be taken by cabin crew and stored in the hold. However, if it would be easier for you, you can check it in with your baggage at check-in. Full sized, non-collapsible prams cannot be accepted for travel.

At some of our airports you may have to pick up your pushchair from baggage reclaim so please ask the Cabin Crew about your pushchair on arrival at your destination. They will be able to advise you on what happens at this airport.
