Needing some Easy and pretty desserts for Christmas Party. Looking for Recipes (and Pictures)

Have you tried pinterest?

Other than that all I can think of is a tray of assorted homemade Christmas cookies.

I wouldn't consider it "pretty" but nothing is easier than a cherry crunch and it is so delicious! I have misplaced my recipe, but google turns up quite a few. You could use any pie filling really. It's basically a box cake mix, stick of butter, pie filling and chopped pecans. If I can find my recipe I'll come back and post it.

Christmas Crunch (friends call it Christmas Crack because it is kind of addictive)
2 cups Cheerios
2 cups Rice Krispies
2 cups salted cocktail peanuts (no skin)
2 cups holiday plain m&ms
1 package white almond bark
(recipe calls for 2 cups mini marshmallows but I think it makes it obnoxiously sweet so simply add a bit more of the others)
Melt the almond bark and pour over other ingredients. Stir well to coat and then pour out and spread out on wax paper or parchment paper to cool and set. Break apart and enjoy.

oreo truffles -- you, a food processor and an instant dessert hit. http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/easy-oreo-truffles-95085.aspx

brownies -- go to Costco. Get big box of Ghiradelli triple chocolate brownie mix (has 4-5 bags of mix in there). Mix as directed and bake. They are ridiculously good and super easy.

Cheese platter with fresh fruit -- sometimes people want a break from the regular sweets. Cambanzola pairs with fresh apple slices or pear slices beautifully.

Brownie trifle

1 9x13 pan of brownies (homemade or boxed mix)
2 packages Jello chocolate pudding (I use instant)
1 large Cool Whip or 2 small
1 package Heath bars, chopped
Trifle bowl

Make pudding and combine with half of Cool Whip. Mix in half of Heath bars. Break up brownies. Put half of brownies on bottom of bowl. Then half of pudding/Cool Whip/ Heath bar mixture. Then half of remaining Cool Whip. Repeat layers. Top with remaining Heath bars. You can also add some Christmas sprinkles, etc. Yummy and so pretty!

a time saver I have used is buy a container of eclairs they sell at BJ's freazer section and drizzle chocolate over it they are very good, just a thought ;)

Graham cracker crust.
Mix 1 packet cream cheese with 1 tub cool whip. Add sugar to taste. Dump over crust.
Slice strawberries and make a fun design on top of CC/whip. Cool 1 hour in fridge.

I make this as well except I use Reese Cups instead of Heath bars as I do not like toffee and I do not mix the pudding with the cool whip, I layer it. Everyone loves it! You could put Christmas M&M's on top or make a Christmas scene as the top is cool whip which could be the snow.

Also try small frozen cream puffs alternated on a wooden skewer with strawberries. Drizzle with chocolate.

Ty I love the sound of this recipe. I will try it. :stir:

I make what I call Pina Colada cake (but no alcohol!).

1 box angel food cake mix
1 14 oz. can crushed pineapple in its own juice (do not drain)
1 bag sweetened shredded coconut (size of bag depends on how much you like coconut - I use a large bag)

Dump undrained pineapple and coconut into cake mix, stir till well moistened, pour into angel food cake pan, bake as directed on mix.

A friend of mine arranges sliced strawberries on top to resemble poinsettias with candy mint leaves, but I've never been that ambitious!

We make the oreo truffles and dip them in white chocolate and decorate with Christmas sprinkles.

Found the following post of mine from 2006. I found these recipes in a Southern Living cookbook:

Black-bottom Goodies
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soad
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespool vinigar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 - oz package cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 teapoon salt
1 6-oz package semisweet chocolate mini-morsels

Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl; make a well in center of mixture. Combine water, oil, vinegar and vanilla; add to dry ingredients, stirring well. Spoon batter into paper-lined mini muffin pans, filling two-thirds full.

Combine cream cheese and next 3 ingredients, stirring well. Stir in chocolate morsels. Spool about 1 teaspoon cream cheese mixture over chocolate batter in each muffin cup.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Yields 5 dozen

Miniature Cheesecakes
3 8-oz packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
5 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

1 8-oz carton sour cream
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Beat cream cheese in a large bowl until soft and creamy. Bradually add 1 cup sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla. Spoon batter into paper-lined mini muffin pans, filling two-thirds full. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes.

Combine sour cream, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, stirring well. Spoon 1/4 teaspoon of sour cream mixture on each cupcake; top with small amount of strawberry preserves in the center of sour cream mixture. Return cupcakes to oven and bake 5 minutes. Yields 6 dozen.

Note: I prefer to add a small piece of fresh fruit (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, etc.) instead of the strawberry preserves. These are very colorful and look very festive.
