Eastern vs Western

Is Mexico (Cozumel and surrounding ruins and beaches) safe enough? I know there were some warnings back in the spring.

We were in Cozumel in April. All was fine. Just seemed like all our other trips
I think I heard to avoid the public ferries

We have been on three Easterns and one Western. We prefer the Eastern because of the extra day at sea. That said, my favorite island that we’ve visited has been Grand Cayman!

There was an issue with the ferries back in March or April. There haven't been any problems since then that have been reported, that I know of.
