Eastern or Western? Port or Starboard?

We're booked in a November 2003 Western cruise, but we're not really so bothered which itinerary. Is one better than the other, especially weather-wise in November? On either itinerary, would it be better to have a port or a starboard cabin? I've seen some mentions that starboard is better on the Eastern.

We chose based on the excursions that looked most interesting to all of us. The Western had more shore stuff we thought we might like to do.

I have been on a cruise in November. We usually vacation the last week in November to celebrate my son's birthday. We are going on the Eastern because it goes STT&SXM they seem to have warmer temps in the winter months. The last cruise we went on the weather was pleasant in Key West and in the Bahamas.....but it was by no means hot enough to soak up the sun....there was a definite chill in the air.

I have done the western ports in November (on a different cruise line) and there was no bad weather. I have done both routes, and I personally prefer the western route.

Any opinions on whether port or starboard are good? I've seen some postings on another site, but am very interested ...
