The most important thing to our family is going to a beach with the least amount of seaweed! Would you recommend Eastern or Western caribbean? My daughter won't go in the water if there is seaweed.

Thanks!

I was on the December 12, 2015 Western and the March 7, 2015 Eastern, both on the Fantasy.

We did not encounter any seaweed at any of the beach stops.

Our favorite beach was Megan's Bay in St. Thomas. We also enjoyed 7 mile beach on Grand Cayman. The beach we went to in Cozumel was at Mr. Sanchos, and it was OK.

Magen's Bay is supposed to be one of the best beaches in the world. When I come back in March, I will give my report :p

I was at Magen's Bay the first time 25 years ago on a vacation to St. Thomas.

Even though our family routinely vacations on nearby St. John, I hadn't returned to Magen's Bay until my 19 year old son and I cruised together in March and went on the Magen's Bay shore excursion.

It was great. We got there about 10:00 a.m., well before it got crowded. I strongly recommend that you eat lunch there very early (think 11:00 a.m.), as there is a slow, hot, crushing line later.

Our entire family, plus my son's girlfriend, went to Magen's Bay in June, while we were vacationing on St. John. It was still worth going, as my wife hadn't been in 25 years and my daughter and son's girlfriend had never been. But, it was very crowded by the time we got there.

If you are going to go to Magen's Bay, get there early and eat early.

We have cruised East Caribbean 2 times, LOVE it! We are cruising West Caribbean in October, really looking forward to it but I would have to say that I am partial to St. Thomas. We loved Meagens Bay and just love the port area, it's great shopping!! We really enjoyed St. Maarten, the first cruise we toured the island, it was ok but the second cruise we took the water taxi to Great Bay beach just off of the port and we loved it too. I think our next cruise in 2017 will be East Caribbean again.
