Looking to book a 7 day for next year. Would you recommend the Eastern or Western Caribbean with a 4 year old?

I don't think it matters with the 4YO as (presumably) either one would be new. I'd go for the one with more sea days though, which tend to be more restful than those with more port days.

I would look at the port excursions for each and see what appeals to you and which would be more kid friendly. If you don't care about excursions, I would second the eastern. We have done both and I thought the scenery, ports and shopping were better on the eastern. I also really enjoy the extra sea day to relax. You really can't go wrong with either though. Have fun!!

Depending on what itinerary you're doing with the Western, I'd also consider that you'll have to take a tender in Grand Cayman. On the Eastern itineraries you do not have to use a tender for any ports.
