Newbie here. Wanted to start out saying thank you to everyone for the wealth of information on the boards. We are taking the 7 day Eastern Apr29, 2006. My son will be 4(almost 5 his b-day is in June). Are there any excursions that we can do other than the beach ones? I saw a couple that looked fun, but the youngest age allowed is 5. Is it possible that Disney would allow us to book anyway since he will be close to 5? Or can we possibly book directly through the vendor? I know that our trip is very far out but I think I have that disease that others on this board have, obsessive planning disorder. Thanks for any help.

In St. Thomas we did the Doubloon and there were several young ones aboard. All the kids seemed to enjoy the whole pirate ship thing.

If he loves sea creatures there is the Atlantis Submarine in St. Thomas. They have an independent site to book through.

Howdy,
The St. Maarten butterfly farm tour is a good one for young kids. Our grandkids took it when they were around 5 and 2.
Also we saw many young kids on the glass bottom boat tours, if he likes colorful fish.
Have a magical cruise!

Thanks for the question and the answers! I have some young ones going too! But then again, my youngest (who is 5 now and will be 6 when we leave has told me he just wants to build sand castles everywhere we go!) :flower:

You could go to Coral World in St. Thomas, a marine park with sharks and some interesting fish, and then to Coki Beach right next door. This is included as part of a Disney excursion but we did it on our own, you just take a taxi for $7 or $8 per person and it works out very well if your kids are not old enough for other excursions. There is a beach in St. Maarten very near to where the Magic docks that you can get to by water taxi if you are just looking for a beach day.

My youngest will be 4 on the cruise. We are doing Lord Sheffield in St. Marteen (not through Disney) which is half daysail on a (sort of) pirate ship. I think it will be great for young and old alike. I think the website is Lord Sheffield.com but if you want me to make sure I will. I booked through e-mal.

My family will be on that same cruise. There will be 20 of us with kids ranging ina ge from 3-13. Maybe we'll meet up. I too am obssesively planning even though it is a year away!! I already made up folders for each of the families with lots of info I have found hear and other places. More ideas for excursions for young ones would be appreciated.
