Hi, Just collecting information for our upcoming cruise. What excursions do y'all like and would recommend. Our kids are 18, 15, ana almost 13. What would be your top 2 or three to consider. Thanks, Bee

In St Maarteen.. the 12 meter regatta

In St Thomas, do it on your won and do the beaches or an excursion to St JOhn

Some sort of excursion to St. John - it's absolutely one of the most beautiful places on the earth. Your kids would probably enjoy one of the sail and snorkel excursions.

Our favorite excursion by far on St. Thomas was a private daysail to St. John

Who did you sail with? I have been looking for a charter.

On St. Maarten the Golden Eagle Catamaran is a fun trip: Sailing, Snorkeling, beach party and finaly a sail party all in one trip.

You can go to Orient Beach on your own. Taxi each way about $8 per person ($80), rent a couple of chairs and an umbrella as a "base camp" about $10. Whatever water sports you want to do would be extra (sail board, jet ski, para sailing, water trampoline, etc). For about $100 in base cost its a lot cheeper than DCL's trip to Orient (but you don't get the lunch - or you can spend the extra $225 (for 5 of you) on a fantastic lunch!!:)

Orient Beach is in a beautiful setting. The water is "active" (read small waves / swells 2-6 feet). The water is warm. The sand on the beach is nice.

Because its a "clothing optional" beach some people won't go there. Its mostly topless. Facing the water the farther right you go the more nudity you'll see.

Especially with small children - it's no big deal - they can deal with it (eew gross). Teenagers under the influence of hormones can even deal with the nudity after a few minutes of "Wow, would you look at that  ". And everyone finds out that nudity isn't what you see in Playboy - the real deal is somewhat scarry - "would you cover that up! :scared: (gravity ALWAYS wins-and to much sun makes you look like old dried up leather) Or that it's humorous (we saw a large white guy that forgot that the sun NEVER shown there and didn't take proper SPF protection - I have no idea of how he sat down for a good week) We went with several kids age 8 -14 and none of them have turned out to be scared for life because of it.

Capt. Nautica hands down. I would do again in a heartbeat, it was the highlight of our trip.

A speedboat ride so you get to your desinations quickly!!! We went to 3 different spots to snorkel-It was awesome!!!!!

Thumbs down for See and Sea in St. Marteen - the tour was really great and very informative but the boat part of it was pretty boring!
Thumbs way way up for the Doubloon Sail and Snorkle in St. Thomas - it was awesome.

In St. Maartin, the 12-Metre Regatta was alot of fun...and a very cool experience. We've also done the Rhino Rider, which was a neat excursion.

Hi,
In St Maarten, we did the Golden Eagle Catamaran and loved it! Can't say enough good things about this excursion (if they still offer it).

In St Thomas, we did the 5 Star St John and loved that one also. Trunk Bay is gorgeous!

The Golden Eagle was the most fun. The crew is incredible! We had a great time at the beach. The 5 Star had the most beautiful scenery. I'm so glad we got to see St. John, just breathtaking.

Have fun!

I am also interested in people's recommendations for Eastern Magic. I want to do the Golden Eagle Catamaran and a trip to St John. Any good recommendations for St John? I have DS9 and DD5. Both love to swim, but DD will not snorkle under any circumstances. She's more of a beach girl. Which Golden Eagle Catamaran is better? They have a morning (7:45) and an afternoon (1:00). I would like to do some shopping on Front Street (Splash and Guaveberry Emporium) so I need to allow time for that. I was thinking the catamaran in the morning since St Maarten is the first stop and I'm sure we'll be anxious to get on land. Any thoughts?

We did the golden eagle in the morning and then had all afternoon to shop; we took a cab to the french capital, marigot, and shopped there and took a cab back. This time, we hope to go to orient beach in the morning and shop later as well. The golden eagle excursion was probably the best excursion we've done and this will be our 7th DLC cruise.
