The late comers FE is closing on the 5th (the last I heard). It is for group members only however.
Don't fret though. If you would like to join our group, I would be happy to send you an invitation to our group page, and can add you to our roll call.
We have a great deal going on in the group, from a meet the day of embarktion (Disney has reserved an area specially for us), to cancer ribbons being made for sharing and wearing to support our fellow cruisers who have been affected by cancer (especially a little 8 yr old fighter - I hope I got her age right).
There is a lot of fun, and so much being shared. We would love to have you join in.

Kim,
I looked at the ribbons, and my list, and I think the black for melanoma would be great.
The blue will work for all of the blues that we need.
And the dark green looks perfect for those who listed liver (and probably for lymphoma as well).
I can not tell if any of your yellows look gold.

If from your end they don't, or if 4 is to many, I will gladly take on the gold (for Childhood).
As well as the lavender for All (for those that are getting missed), and the plum (for caregivers).

Since I've been stating that September 5th is the cutoff for the latecomers (Group III) FE since it was first started, I will be sticking to that cutoff date. I will be compiling the last revision of the stateroom list after midnight on the 5th. Basically, you would need to join the Yahoo Group and add your information to the Group III FE database before tomorrow night.

If anyone has been thinking that they might be interested in joining a FE group but hasn't quite been ready to commit: Heads up! Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to join the Latecomers (group III) FE group!

Absolutely positively no exceptions will be made to this deadline because those who have committed to participating need all remaining time until departure to complete their gifts and figure out how to pack them all.

If you still want to join, please make sure you have joined the Yahoo Group (Tink sends out those invites. Check the IMs on your profile.) and then add your information to the database for Group III - Latecomers FE Group.

Everything almost ready to go. Just a few more weeks of work and the a whole week of just relaxing.

We just mad a major correction to our travel plans:
When looking for a place to rent stand-up paddleboards on Amelia Island, where we will spend the week before the cruise, I stumbled over the website of a bed & breakfast, that has raving reviews on tripadvisor.
It is situated right on the beach, our suite has a 250° view of the Atlantic Ocean, breakfast is freshly cooked to order and either served in our living room or on the patio, all beach Utensils are provided by the inn: Chairs, towels, umbrellas, skim boards, boogie boards, etc.
I called them last night and to my surprise after a few words the innkeeper switched to fluent German. He's of Dutch origin and as most of our neighbours from the west he speaks our language.
He made us a great price as we're staying a full week and so we booked right away and cancelled our reservation at the Residence Inn where we originally planned to stay.
When I asked him if we could bring anything from Europe, he spontaneously asked for Old Gouda as that's not available in the US. So we'll go to a good delikatessen the day before we leave to get a few pounds of real Dutch cheese.

Additionally we received yesterday the voucher for the first rental car before the cruise. The travel agency goofed up as they were supposed to also send the voucher for the week after the cruise as well and so I had to call them and require the second one to be sent immediately, too.
It's supposed to arrive early next week.

We just registered for this cruise. It will be our fifth Disney (three Magic, once on the Wonder) and our ninth overall. It will be me, DH, DS 16 and DS 14.

Four systems between the African coast and Hispaniola plus the remnants of tropical cyclone Gabrielle hanging over Mexico
But perhaps that means that all the latent energy in the ocean gets used up and we'll have fair weather all week long

Today we checked out a brandnew mall that opened its gates a week ago and found some nice travel gadgets and gifts for our tablemates.
We purchased two special bags to pack shirts wrinkle-free, a garment back for Anja's robes and my tux, a set of very light mesh-bags to pack underwear and socks, and so-called 'Gadget Bag' for all the chargers and cables required for the cameras, iPad, iPhone, Kindle, etc.

The Latecomers (Group III) FE SIGN UPS ARE NOW CLOSED.

If you have already requested (via the DIS board or the Yahoo Group) to be added but have not added your information to the database on the Yahoo Group, you need to contact me within 24 hours so that I can add your information for you. I know yesterday the Yahoo Group was having a few issues and I'm trying to be as accommodating as possible. Anyone who does not have their information on the database by Sunday, Sept 8 at midnight (MST) will not be included in the exchange - sorry!

At what I believe to be final count, Group III has a head count of 48 across 13 cabins. I will post those details shortly.

Boy, when I read our posts, it really makes me think I need to start packing before October 3rd!

That would be too late for us as we're flying over on 9/28 already
We plan to pack most of our stuff on 9/21 and do the finishing touches on 9/27, because we have to leave for the airport around 7:20 am on the 28th.
We have to pack for a trip of three weeks and keep room in our luggage for some shopping in the US.

Good news! Two of the four tropical waves have already faded out. The two remaining tropical waves only have a 20% chance of formation. There have been over two dozen tropical waves off the coast of Africa already this summer, and only a couple of them gained enough strength to be called a tropical depression. And, TS Gabrielle is now a "post-tropical depression", meaning she will be just a pesky rain storm in Mexico soon.

For anyone who would like to follow tropical weather systems as we get closer to our cruise, here is the best website: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ We live on the east coast, in an area very prone to hurricanes, so I check this site daily from early May through the end of October.

I'd much rather be on a Disney cruise than at home during a hurricane. The captain will move the ship well out of harms way, whereas at home, we always end up with lots storm damage and loss of electricity for days each time a hurricane blasts through here.

Here's hoping for smooth sailing October 5-12!
