Just wanted to say, we will pass on the FE's. It sounds like such great fun but with 7 flights to get through in our 6 week holiday it will be taking up our very precious luggage space for all our shopping.

7 flights? Which route are you flying to Florida?
I thought we Germans would be the cruisers with the longest trip to Port Canaveral, but from Oz it's definitely farther - you win
Australia is also on our list of places to visit. I got family in 'The Gong', but so far we haven't made it there. Perhaps in 2014, we'll see. I also got a friend in Sydney, who works for Qantas - one more reason to go there

I hope everyone had a pleasant Turkey Day
and a safe Black Friday (we choose to make friends while waiting for the buzzer to sound...hoping that our new friends would not tromple us)

I have spent my week vacation doing a months worth of cleaning prepairing for my upcoming mandated down time....

Recently our fears were confirmed when I had 2 biopsies performed. My cancer has returned. I am going in Monday for my first treatment, and then have a second a week later.

So, I will be taking a brief break from the board and the group page. I am hoping only about 2 weeks. If any new comers add during that time, I will get them added in when I am feeling up to it. And, I will ask TiggerB to help with moderating the group page.

There is a chance however that I will be my stubborn self and try to squeeze some work in .......We shall see.

If I do not post again before Monday afternoon, I will see y'all in a few weeks

After all those 'not-so-good-news' I'd like to post some good news:

Some weeks ago I applied for a new position within my company. I was accepted last Friday and today our Works Council also gave its 'go' Next week I'll sign my new contract and will learn about the raise coming with it.

We booked hotels for the time before and after the cruise. First we'll stay for a week in a Hampton Inn on Amelia Island. That's on the Atlantic Coast about 4 hours north of Port Canaveral. After the cruise we'll stay at another Hampton Inn in Panama City Beach, about seven hours northwest of PC. We have friends there who we've seen last time in October 2011.
We'll fly from Frankfurt to Jacksonville and will also depart from JAX. Amelia Island is just 40 minutes away from there and from PCB it's a five hour-ride.

Sorry to see Footballcutie withdrawl, but I fully understand.

As for me, I am on the mend. And my hubby has been busy gathering cruise info for us while I was recovering. I am going to post daily Navigators he found for our cruise itinerary on our group page later today. They have some great info on planning our days.

And as a side note, I am liking the idea of going to the airplane beach.

Just want to let everyone know, that I have posted several items to the group page today.

1- a link to a weeks worth of personal navigators that match our itinerary (thanks to my wonderful hubby) (this can be found in one of the new messages just posted

2- a member list (under database) that has a list of all of the members on this DIS - this table is editable so everyone can list their group name next to their DIS name (already on the list), and their cabin number

3- 2 different meet sign-ups (again under the database link).

On Wednesday I'm going to attend a leadership workshop of my company. One of my cowoworkers from Denver did a crusie on the Fantasy earlier this year. I'm going to get some tips from her - hopefully

Another coworker will return from a trip to St Marteen. She promised to check the flight schedule for the best time to see the aircraft passing the beach. I'll post that in ten days as won't be at the office this week. I had to use some of my last vacation days and so I'm staying home this week, except for the workshop. The very last remaining days I intend to use between xmas and new year as I can take eleven days of with just two vacation days then

Hello everyone!

My wife (Tammy 26 at the time of cruise) and I (Santiago 28 at time of cruise) will be joining y'all on the butt! This will be our 3rd DCL and we be celebrating our 1 year anniversary. We booked this cruise on our honeymoon this past October and can't wait for it. We would love to join the FE list for the first time. We felt so left out this past time not being able to join these groups, with wedding planing we didn't have to to look up how to start the FE. So glad we found these threads. Hope to here from everyone soon.

do you think it's possible to find the schedule for the gym classes aboard the ship? We'd be especially interested to know whether they're offering Zumba-classes.

Eric- as a German, aren't you welcoming Santa a bit late....We celebrated Saint Nicks Day with the hanging of our stockings, and some coal...HaHa on Dec. 6th

Any how, as for the Zumba classes, I am not sure if we will know exactly what will be offered. However, if you follow the link for the Personal Navigators on the group page, there are time guides for each day. On the second page of each time guide, is an hourly breakdown. When I was looking through them, it did list some classes that were being offered. Maybe you can get an idea of what times classes will be offered. I honestly did not look at them all yet, so I can not list every class offered, but may be that can help for now, and I will look more into it in the days to come.
