We've been on 3 7-day cruises and this summer we did an excursion in St. Martin that topped them all. We chartered a Cigarette boat and spent the day cruising, snorkeling and playing in Anguilla. It was beautiful. Anguilla is about a 10 minute boat ride from St. Martin and is uncommercialized. No hotels, no timeshares, everything is private.. and beautiful. Our kids loved it. If you're going to be in St. Martin, we had some time to shop in the morning before getting picked up. We are thinking of taking the 10-day next December and if we do, we're going to do this again!!

Is anyone else in DIS-land going next December? Who did you book through?

For more information see www.offshoresunsations.com. Click on testimonials for our excursion report.

We're going next December on the 10 day - along with a bunch of other DISers - there's avery active discussion under cruise meets.

We booked onboard - and are debating on which travel agency to transfer our reservation to. I do know that some of the cat.'s are already getting full.

Hope that you decide to join us. I'd also love to know the approximate cost of your excursion.

I believe the cost was around $1000 for the day. However, that's for the whole boat up to 10 or 12 people. You will probably want to confirm that with the operator, Jack. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it is all top notch.

We were just going to book 1/2 day unless we could find someone on these boards to split the cost with... I didn't. We got out on the excurstion and it was so wonderful, we decided to stay for the whole day. It was one of those things that we're glad we did. The pics we brought back were awesome.

Let me know if you go. If we take the 10 day next December, we're going to go again.

We do a lot of boating...soooo thanks for your post!

We have been thinking of doing something like this on St. Martin, but haven't found the right web site yet (looking for power boat rental like this).

Do you happen to know of half day rental quote? (I will be sending an email to them....but thought I would ask a "friend" first:teeth: )

Thanks again,

Shanno

We're going on the 10-day also, and I've been looking for something like this. We are a family of 4....myself, DH, DD14, and DS11 (at cruise time). We'd love to go in on something like this with fellow cruisers.

No, I can't remeber the 1/2 day rate.

Justmestace, If we decide to do the 10 day, I'll send you a PM, we are also a family of 4.

Thanks, Doogierunner! Where in the Midwest are you from? I was born and raised in Omaha. :)

Iowa. I see your location says Arizona? Are you in the midwest?
Who did you book your 10 day through? DCL, Dreams? We're DVC members but I'm not sure we can exchange points for the 10 day cruise.

Doogierunner,
I live in Arizona now....couldn't take the snow. My whole family still lives in Omaha, though.
I booked through DCL, got my Castaway Club discount. I guess I use them out of habit, and I like to talk to them about room options, and know for sure where my room is going to be. I never use their air travel or ground transportation, though.
There's been some discussion about the DVC points and the 10-day cruise, guess you jut have to call and find out, I wasn't certain anyone had a definitive answer.

My CC discount was $200. I didn't have any luck the first time I tried to make reservations online with my CC # either...don't know why.

We booked the 10 day thru DU and I didn't have my CC club numbers handy so I didn't give them. Does that mean I missed the CC club discount?

Hi jilljill!
Would you normally get the CC discount when booking through DU? Did booking through DU save you more than $200? If it did, then you got a better deal, anyway. DCL makes sure that people only get to take advantage of one discount. I had the CC discount last cruise, and then tried to get the $50 onboard room credit for booking as a group, but it was a no-go.
Call DU and ask them...all they can do is say yes or no.
