Easter Week 2005- are we crazy to go at that time?

A CM told me that the week before Easter is busier than the week after. If you have no other choice, then go but do a lot of planning. With Easter being in March, the weather will probably not be real warm. This past Easter week had quite a few cool days. Good luck!

We are in upstate NY and we do not have that week off. Our spring break is the second or third week in April, specifically starts the 18th of April. Since Easter is early there is a chance that the spring breaks are broken up for different regions of the country so it won't be as crowded. I would go whenever I have the chance regardless of the crowds. So much other stuff to do besides the parks.

WDW2003....We will be there!!! I have reservations from Thurs before-Thurs after Easter....But I am waiting to get a job(teaching) and then split the vacation to Good Friday, Sat, and leaving Easter...and then back for 5 days Sun-Fri in April Break. Most schools in the NE are only a few days off at Easter, and the usual April break....So I think if you have to go to Disney at Easter this year, and in 2008, are the years to go BTW everyone that I know went in Easter if 04...and they are all going in April of 05...so at least my friends won't be there

Sounds like you do have a choice. If I did, I'd definitely go for the fall. Beautiful weather (barring hurricanes) and low crowds most of the time. I did a back to back Easter trip in 2002 (the week before and the week after with two different sets of grandkids). It wasn't unmanageable, but definitely go early and get out of Dodge around lunchtime. We went to MK one evening and I just about panicked; the people were so on top of one another.

My grandchildren wanted to go next spring break, which falls on Easter also. At first I was willing, then it occured to me that our Easter trip was the first Easter after 9/11. I felt the crowds even then, and I know it would be much worse now.

Right you are. This year in Westchester, NY there is no Easter break, only a few days for Easter, a few for Passover. I'm vacationing with my college daughter who will be off in March. Going to cause a lot of confusion!
