I'm hostessing Dh's Family this Easter and I need more grown-up decorations. (With little kids I just have non breakable kiddy stuff and never got around to upgrading.) I want to impress without breaking the budget. KWIM I'm looking for table centerpieces and maybe a wall hanging or 2.

I have a candle/holder and thought of putting jelly beans in it (not to eat just for the color) since I usually put something in it to help hold it up. I also thought about fresh flowers for one table.

I have 4 eatting tables and 2 serving tables. (At Thanksgiving a year ago I ended up borrowing a bunch of MIL's stuff but Easter is usually another Aunts thing who can't do it anymore, but I don't want to go the 2 plus hours each way to borrow her stuff. KWIM)

Any suggestions? I am crafty if I have a picture to copy....

TIA

My Easter table is really a Spring table. Its just about the time that you want to see some happy colors. Just make it bright and festive and you'll be fine :goodvibes

These websites will have tons, and tons of ideas for Easter decorations! The one pretty thing one will probably have the most.
My favorite table decoration is planting wheat grass in a rectangular white container, trimming it neatly with scissors, and placing colored eggs down the center.
Carrots with tops are great in a tall glass container filled with water, then add tulips and daffodils (I make sure carrots line container and the flower stems go to the inside so you can't see them when you are done. Does that make sense?). The carrot tops are good greenery for the flowers, and the carrots in the water are super cute!

If you use the search, she has lots of Easter ideas.

If you will have a dessert table than apothecary jars filled with pastel candies are cute. Tie a pretty spring ribbon near the top.
Another very cute and simple decoration is to spray paint a manzanita branch white, clip on some springy birds (they sell them at micheals in the floral pick section) and your done! Just lay it down the center of the table (maybe on a rustic burlap runner. Burlap is big this year) You could make napkin rings to match by spray painting small rectangles of cardboard with chalkboard paint, attaching a larger rectangle of burlap behind them, and using chalk (maybe a pretty blue color) to write the guests name. Attach a piece of raffia, or pretty blue ribbon to tie it to the napkin.

If you have a long rectangular table, I think this would look nice. I did it on a windowsill over the sink in the kitchen and it looks great.

Buy small skinny vases at walmart. the ones I got were $1. I bought gerber daisy stems in bright colors at Michaels. The large ones. Then I put one daisy in each vase with with some decorative stones to hold in place. They just look so simple and clean, but really festive. Just line them up down the center of the table. I think the whole thing cost me $10.

I love these websites!! They usually link to other pages/blogs where you can see even more ideas!

Instead of the fresh flowers, I would do a row or grouping of several pots of daffodils, tulips, or hyacinths on maybe a pretty tray? They would look nice in terra cotta pots. Tie wide wired ribbon around the pots, or gather fabric around the pots if they are the plastic ones.

Dollar tree usually has a lot of seasonal items. I like the idea of jelly beans in the candle holder. If you have any apothecary jars you can put Easter items like fake eggs in them.

After going back and looking at one pretty thing, you should check out their spring round up too! Lots of cute ideas that would fit perfectly for Easter.

Thanks for the ideas and links! I knew DISers would help me.

You reminded me that I ordered 3 daff in pots (2 are presents) from ACS and they will come in time so I will have to save those for one table.:goodvibes

Now off to look at the links...

Thanks all!
