I have a quick question for those of you who have visited on Easter before. We are going to be there from 4/3-4/10 so we will be there Easter Sunday. I have no problems "building" most of the basket from the candy and goodies that can be bought on site...but the DH mentioned the need for "traditional" choco bunnies.

Does anyone know if those can be bought on site or is that something I need to hide in the suitcases? I'm not worried about the DS, he's old enough, but the DD...

Thanks for any insight!

I don't see why you can't put the bunnies in your carryon. I would call the airport and ask. If not, you can always put them in the suitcase.

I believe I saw chocolate rabbits at Ghirardelli's at Downtown Disney. I don't remember seeing them in any of the Disney owned candy stores.

I don't recall ever seeing them onsite, but it's possible they may have them out around Easter. If not, you could get a chocolate Mickey/Minnie and say the Easter Bunny must have knew they were at Disney. :thumbsup2 If you can't bring them on the plane (for chance of melting or they're not allowed), maybe you or your DH can run to a Walgreens or some other store and pick them up while one of you stays onsite with the kiddies. Of course I don't know if your family will have a rental car and what not so I guess it depends.

Yeah, no car this year. Last year we rented one and spent the day in Vero Beach/Dodgers spring training. I think the best bet will be that I just buy a few bunnies here and ship them down wiht the suitcases. The carry on is out. LOL the DD loves to see what mommy has in her bag. I usually hide a few fun things in there for when they start to get board.

It's amazing what kinds of little things like this can trip me up on the planning. :lmao:

Thanks for the help!

I just wanted to tell you that I remember a trip as a child where I was AMAZED that Santa found us in Orlando and stuffed a stocking! :goodvibes

Of course, that was a different time, with different carry-on rules...

I do have to pipe up here. I don't think the baggage areas in a plane have the same temperature as the passenger areas. You could be in for a melted bunny fest. My experience with this was when my parents took us to Washington, DC over the Easter weekend. We drove and they kept all of our basket makings hidden in the compartment in the station wagon where the spare tire was. That three hour drive melted all the chocolate that was in there.

We had a good laugh (my sister and I were teenagers but still looked forward to an Easter basket every year) about it, though. Chocolate never made another trip with us again.

How about mailing the bunnies down to yourself at the resort? Do you think that you can pick up a package without your daughter seeing you?
