Easter in Hilton Head 2008

We are going to Disney's Hilton Head Island resort for Easter and was wondering if anyone has any information regarding the kid's activities scheduled for the week, does Disney provide options to purchase Easter baskets, etc. Anything you could add would be appreciated. I called the resort and they have no information yet.

Does anyone have last year's activities for Easter week that they could share?

We went to HH for Easter of 2005 which was in late March, much like this year. On Easter Sunday there was torrential rain, so they moved the Easter Egg hunt inside. There were also Easter craft sessions for the kids. I don't remember anything about the resort offering baskets, I just brought my own from home. The resort did take orders for a fully cooked dinner delivered to your door, since they don't have a full service restaurant on site.

The rest of the week was lovely and warm and all the spring flowers were out.

I did day by day at exactly 7 mos. Got Sun-Fri 1 bdrm without having to waitlist any days. I tried to call early- but I called late morning- mid afternnon on a couple of the days.

About a month after the fact decided I wanted Sat. night (night before Easter) and they had 1 - 1 bdrm available, but no studios.

We booked at 7 months out on a daily basis to make sure we got it. We have a reservation for a 2 bedroom.

Easter at HHI sounds fun (Heck, anytime there sounds fun to me!). I hope someone's planning to give us a trip report.

We are also going to HH Easter Week this year arriving on Good Friday and staying until the following Friday. In addition to learning about the Easter-related events, I'd love to know what else might be happening around the resort that week. We have a DD-10 and DS-8. (We have a DS-14 as well, but he'll be going on a class trip that week.....our first vacation without him, and I'm having a hard time adjusting to that idea!) Anyway, anybody with additional insight to the possible events would be much appreciated.

I figure the weather will be unpredictable, but by that time, even biking on a cool day on HH will seem like a treat compared to winter grayness here in Ohio.

We also booked 7 months out -- had no problem getting a 2BR by calling day by day. The points were a bargain too....about 200 for a 2BR! Again, I know there are no guarantees on the weather, but 200 points for Easter week anywhere seems like a bargain!

Our weather is crazy here in S.C in March - rainy and cold one day, sunny and warm the next! Hopefully it will be sunny and warm for you! It is 80 degrees here today! Tommorow is supposed to be a high of 65.

We'll be in Vero for Easter and we're hoping for great weather there!

We're checking into HHI on Easter too, will be there through Fri. We booked a 2BR at 7mos mostly day by day, of course the day I forgot I had to waitlist but it came through shortly after.

I'd love to find out if there is a specialty type shop that would deliver an Easter basket to the resort. We'll be driving down from Chicago and I don't think I can 'hide' the goodies in the car without it melting or the kiddos finding it.

As for the unpredictable weather, as long as there is no snow I'll be happy!

When my kids were younger I used to leave the baskets home on the fireplace. My husband would get the kids outside in the car and I would run back in and put them out. We usually were always away for Easter and they still even now at 15 & 13, walk in the house looking for the baskets when we get home. I would bring a little candy with us. We used to tell them that the Easter Bunny leaves it at your house. I'm not sure if this would work for everyone but it has for our family.

I was in HHI once at the end of March. Nice weather for someone from Ohio, but the locals were all bundled up. It had been much warmer right before I got there .

Hey Princessesrule4, we'll be in Vero for Easter also. Did some historical research on Weatherunderground. Not to0 bad 2005 the highs were in the upper 80's, last year was mid 80's.

I wasn't able to get anything at HH for Easter this year. I made the mistake of not calling day by day and waited until I could do the whole thing, apparently that was not a good idea So instead of a couple hour drive to HH, we're going to Disney World! Would've been a lot less points at HH, but we need to kill dbl developer points anyways
