Alright, so we are planning our first trip to DL!! I had no problems with finding the hotel, flights, etc. & Easter (22nd - 26th) worked perfectly with our schedules.

Now, I'm seriously questioning my decision. My biggest fear is it will be beyond crowded and my family will hate me for choosing these dates!

Could the predictions be wrong? Late Easter? Or is everyone just trying to scare me - ha!

I'm seriously thinking of changing our trip to the week of April 11 - 15 (weekdays). Yes, it will be busy/crowded as it's Spring Break but nothing like Easter, correct? I can still change my reservations at the same rates.

The only thing we have to consider is my & my dd monthly cycle (ha ha!)

Should I stick with Easter or change to mid-week in the middle of April?? Thoughts pLeAsE :)!!
THanks!

Becca

We have gone around Easter many times. Our very first time was the three weekdays before Easter. Good Friday was insane! It was a little stressful to be at the parks with such big crowds with it being our first time and us not having nearly as much Disney knowledge as we do now. I admit that I really didn't want to go back to Disneyland for a little while after the stress of that trip, but we've been back over 20 times since, so we got over it!

The time around Easter will be busy. It might be better than recent years though since Easter is so late this year. Also, it looks like your dates are for the week after Easter. Even when Easter is earlier in the season and tons of school breaks correspond to it, our experiences have been that the week after Easter feels a little less crowded than the week before.

Get as much info from these boards as you can. Learn all about how to use fastpass. Get up really early in the morning and be in line outside the gates before the park opens. These are the most helpful tips for any Disney trip, especially during crowded times. Also, eat at non-peak times, and make dining reservations in advance for sit-down places you really want to go to. Spring break is busy; heck, it's hard to find anytime these days at Disney when it's not busy.

Have a great trip whatever you decide!

we are going to be there the 25th - 30th and from my recearch I am finding
the 25th & 26th to be extremely busy.:headache:

I would highly recommend you purchase RideMax. We are using it to plan our trip for the end of March (not predicted to be nearly so busy as April!) and it is invaluable for saving time standing in lines. :cheer2:

I went on Easter last year and it wasn't horrible at all! I guess it got a little crowded towards the end of the day, but when does that not happen, especially on a weekend? There was a point during the afternoon where there was an earthquake and every ride had to be shut down until it could be inspected, so for about an hour, there were thousands of people wandering aimlessly around the park with nothing to ride. We park hopped a couple times to use fastpasses that we had acquired and didn't have any problems or long waits (even without fastpass)! I would actually go again on Easter based on last year's experience.
