Easter blackouts--what do those usually look like?

Hey all...

We are headed to Florida (but not Disney) for Easter. However, since we are flying into MCO and arriving late afternoon, we will likely pit stop the first night (or maybe 2) at Disney to head out in the morning for our destination. We have never traveled during Easter, and I know it's the 2nd most popular time for Disney to blackout dates for discounts, but does anyone have any info on what those blackout dates usually look like? We'd be looking for the Weds and/or Thursday night before Easter. Is the week before Easter the blackout period, or is it the week after Easter? (Or maybe just the weekend of Easter??) I'm trying to plan whether to use my own points while there's still some availability (which I really don't want to use), or if cash is a feasible option if there's a discount...

Thanks for any help! Most of the sites that keep track of the discounts don't usually list blackouts, so it's been a hard topic to research on my own. :)

Hi, we have been going to Disney every year at Easter time for the past 7-8 years. Normally discounts were blacked out the week leading up to Easter (so we used Orbitz or AAA). However, this year (2015), there were no blackouts at Easter:cheer2:. Presumably because spring breaks are now very spread out from February through April, so Easter week is no longer "the only" spring break. Here's to hoping they follow the same procedure for 2016!
