new user here..so bare with me..My Family and I are thinking of going Easter 2012..We have been to WDW a few times as a family already (ive been many times since a child) But have never went during this timeIs there anything special that goes on then? Is that considered a "peak season"Thanks for all the help :wave2::wave2:

Yep...it's PEAK season :) one of the busiest time of the year. We are headed down the Thursday before Easter and staying for the week after Easter so we'll be there with all the crowds. But that being said, with proper planning you can have a great time!

Are you staying on Property?

I was able to get the free dining coming the week before Easter through the Saturday before Easter. I have never been, but have had some distant friends go this time frame. They said there were lots of late extended hours, does any know if that is true?

What are your travel dates?

I'm arriving on March 31 and departing April 7th. When the free dining was first extended to next year dates, it included a checkin date of March 31. My travel agent caught it and gave me a call. He thought it was a fluke, but we were able to hold the reservation with a deposit. Disney has since moved the date backwards from the March 31 deadline. I have never seen free dining for spring break (for us) and this close to Easter. Maybe I wasn't looking, but I"m glad my TA caught this one.

First, welcome.

We'll be there with you, April 3rd to 21st, BC.

Our first trip was last year over Christmas/New Year, and although very busy we had a great time and as flea1267 said 'with proper planning you can have a great time!'

Will also be interested to hear if there is anything special going on

Can anyone tell em the relative price difference in cost of accomodations during easter season vs, say, 2 weeks after that?

we are arriving on April 14, which is "holiday" pricing, and then goes down to regular season pricing on the 15. For the Poly, the holiday pricing is about $100 more a night, but the price difference will vary based on the type of resort you are staying in.

Epcot Flower and Garden Festival will be March 7 through May 20.
