I've been thinking of leaving Good Friday next year and spending the week after Easter and some of the following week. Are the crowds really that bad or are they manageable. We will have park hoppers and use TGM.
Any advice?

Depending on our school spring break which is either the week before or after easter - we have gone to WDW 3 times and will again in 2007. The crowds are high, but the park (MK) is open from 8:00am to midnight. If you get there at or before 8am - the park is easy to navigate until 10:30 or 11:00 and then you should have a couple of fastpasses which should tide you over for a few more hours. However, from 11:30 - midafternoon - it's packed and then starts to thin out a bit after that. After about 8:00pm-9:00pm, it's pretty manageable again. In fact, we just continuously rode goofy's barnstormer at 9:00pm. At 8:00am we were continuously riding Big Thunder Railroad. You can manage, but you definitely need a general game plan. We like it then (even though the crowds are large) because there are extended hours and more characters out.

We just returned from the week before easter this year and it was very managable. Again, go early. We finished Fantasyland - every ride some even twice, Indy Speedway, Space Mountain, Stitch and had a quick muffin for breakfast by 9am one day. We got to the gates at 6:45am and were the 4th family down main street at 7am. We were first on Dumbo...

We rode Goofy Barnstormer right in the middle of the afternoon and only waited 20 minutes. Not bad in my book. The rest of the rides - Buzz and BTMM we used fastpass for. We walked right on Pirates..

The streets are very hard to manuever through starting around 10:30 am - and forget it if a parade is coming through. But I didn't mind that. We used TGM and had a great strategy which turned out to be huge. My DH could not stop thanking me over and over after he had spent the past 5 months making fun of me for all the planning I was doing.

I would definately say go for it!!!!!

We just returned from the week after Easter (Good Friday to the following friday) and it was pretty manageable. Go early in the Am and leave for naps/swimming/rest and then head back later for Parades/Fireworks. Have a great trip!

We return Easter 2007 too.
Weather will be nicer than our June 2006 trip.
We leave the day before Holy Thursday and return 11 days later.
Plan on visiting the Parks on EE mornings, eat lunch (ADR) in the park of our choice and return for a swim. Depending on crowds, we'll go out again for a few hours late in the day - near where we eat dinner.

Planning to stay at CSR - maybe Dophin with teacher rate :teacher:
