I hope to be bringing my mom and dad (both in the mid 70's with mobility issues not to mention my mom had a heart valve replacement one month ago), the first week in Dec. They've only been to the World once and it wasn't during Christmastime. We're staying at POFQ and I want to show them some of the other hotel decorations. It will only be the three of us and both of them will be using scooters. I was wondering if we would be able to ride a boat over to WL from MK instead of getting on a second bus?

I want to thank the moderators for all of the wonderful infomation made available to us. I read that motor cruisers are ecv accessible but not motor launches between MK and MK resorts. I've ridden a boat from MK to WL before but I don't know what kind of boat it was. Do the motor launches and motor cruisers pick up from the same location?

The boat route between WL and MK has 1 launch and 1 cruiser. The launch has a step down into the boat and you cannot take an ECV on board(there really is no room). The cruiser is larger, most of the time you can roll right on, part of the boat is enclosed, the bow and stern are open air.

I know from my years as a Disney bus driver that they run direct buses in the morning to assist with the crowds or at least they used to. The buses would run through Fort Wilderness and then go directly to MK. Things may have changed since I left there 5 yrs ago so it's probably best to call the resort and ask. During normal operation during the day you would have to take the boat or make your way to somewhere like Hollywood Studios and transfer to another bus if the small boats were not an option.

There is a bus that runs to/from MK/WL all day, it does not share with FW, so the bus would also be an option. Going all the way out to HS, or any other park to get to Mk from WL would be a very round about, time consuming route(probably close to an hour).

Ahh yes, I had forgotten about WL. Good call

It sounds like you have all your transportation information, but I wanted to let you know that you should make a stop at the Grand Floridian and the Boardwalk. the have the most AMAZING gingerbread houses. The boardwalk is a really nice walk from Epcot, and although I haven't tried it the ice cream shop there sounds like it would provide a nice reward! It really is very pretty.

I will be at the world until the 6th of Dec...

I want to thank everyone for all the advice. Also, I do plan on taking them to breakfast at the Grand Floridian on our departure morning so that they have the opportunity to see their decorations!
