I've never travelled with young children/car seat/stroller so am trying to figure out how this works for my DS & his family. As they are getting a rental car, how do they traipse out to the rental car area(Alamo)with car seat, stroller, booster seat & 3 suitcases? (& not lose site of the 3yo)Can they rent one of the baggage carts where they pick up their luggage & use that across the street to the parking garage? If so, how much does that cost & where does it have to be returned? How to other families deal with all that kid stuff???

The Smart Carts are about $4 I think and would be an easier way to transport all the stuff. Alternately, one person (if there are two adults) can go get the rental and drive it back over to pick up the other parent who stayed with the kids and luggage.

Oh, I've also read discussions where they pay the outside porter $20 to take all their luggage, etal, to the rental place for/with them. So you just walk with your kids and your personal concierge walks with you with all their stuff. Those carts of theirs are much bigger than the smart carts. I've never seen this done but it sounds like a good idea.

If one parent does go to pick up the car, how does he get back to where he could pick up the rest of the family/luggage? Would this be right outside from where you walk into the parking garage?

Just rent a luggage cart. They are available in the baggage claim area. They are usually 3-4 dollars and you can leave them in the rental car area.

I do this every time I rent with my family. After all the bags have been retrieved, we all walk outside to the curb and find a place to sit with all the bags. After I know where they are waiting, I then walk downstairs to the garage, find my car company, get the car and drive out. When you drive out of the garage and you are on the multi lane road you will see all kinds of signs. You want to find your terminal whether it is A or B and follow the signs that say return to terminal. e.g. if you were in terminal A, you just follow the signs that say return to terminal and then look for the signs for terminal A arrivals and baggage claim. The whole thing only takes about 20 min from the time you head to the garage until you pick up back up at curbside. It is alot easier than it sounds and after the first time you do it, it gets much easier. Go to orlandoairports.net and you can get a map of the airport roads.

I imagine the easiest way to get the luggage BACK to the airport would be to do check the luggage at the resort, right? They are flying SW and staying at SSR so I think I'll recommend they check the luggage that AM. Then, they have to deal only with the carseat for the trip back to the airport.
