EASIEST Way from MCO to Boardwalk Villas

Hi.

My mom will be meeting me at BWVs in October. When I fly down I will be taking her luggage so she
will just have her "personal item" bag when she gets off the plane.

I usually fly with her and most recently we just take Uber or Mears.

She has taken Uber (she is 78 but active enough) but the walk may be long to get there.

Where is the easiest and closest pick up in MCO for pick up to BWVs. Is it easiest for Uber or a personal driver?
If personal driver, is that a long walk. I get it though it's a long walk anywhere in MCO.
She rather convenience over cost.

She will be booking either United or JetBlue. Will that make a difference.

Agree with the above as she'll have to walk out to baggage claim however she gets to the resort. Also, JetBlue arrives in Terminal C which is the longest walk. So she may want to book United if the costs are the same.

A personal driver will go inside and get her. But, be warned, sometimes a personal driver can be late (traffic, unexpected occurrence, etc.) and then she would have to wait for this person. This has happened to me, so I thought I'd mention it here. And sometimes the walk to the personal driver's vehicle could be longer than a walk to get a rideshare.

There are taxis as well (as opposed to rideshares). They're also in approximately the same area as private cars and rideshares. There's no avoiding having to walk for a while to get to these areas, not counting using a helicopter, which I don't even know if that's possible.

As a PP noted, Terminal C has a LOT of walking from the gate to anywhere else, even if her plane would come in at the gate closest to everything else. It's still a tremendous amount of walking. There are vehicles available to transport people, but, not having used these myself, I can't tell you how to reserve them. But I see people on them, so the info is out there somewhere.

Are you and your mom going to the parks? Because any walk at MCO is dwarfed by the amount of walking one would do in any of the 4 parks.

I did a little bit (not a whole lot!) of searching and cannot come up with how one reserves the transportation inside Terminal C. But I see people all the time on these blue vehicles that hold maybe 8 people + luggage, so there must be some way to request this.

However, your mom might want to play it safe and fly United into Terminal A or B instead. I fly JetBlue all the time, so I'm all too well acquainted with the Terminal C walking distances. When my flight gets in late and I have to walk walk walk walk walk just to get my bag I am not amused.

Oh my!! THANK YOU! I didn't think the airline would matter. She will be flying from EWR so it will be United or JetBlue.
I will tell her book United, which right now is the least expensive.

I was at the gate furthest from the main area. The walk didn't seem that bad, but as I said I was expecting the worst.

My Tiffany Towncar driver said that it does sometimes take a ridiculously long time for checked bags to arrive. He said that it's all automated in that Terminal, so he doesn't understand why it takes so long.

Then don't advise Mears Bus. I did it off a UA flight and it was a nice little hike to Mears staging area, stood around for 20 mins waiting for a bus which then stopped at Terminal C, then I was like resort stop 5 of 6. It was such a time suck and I saved like $20 over a rideshare #regrets

I found this article from Jan of last year, at least then the way to use it was to flag it down and they didn't really have a staging area.

If I had a fam member who could not do the walk with carry-on I would arrange wc transport with JetBlue when booking the ticket to be safe. @js so if she wants JB it's still an option, they should have a spot when checking out to arrange for wc accommodations.

Forgive me for asking, I haven't been through MCO in ages. Doesn't MCO have wheelchair assistance to get from gates to baggage claim? My mother used to call for that all the time in EWR. She could walk short distances, but not the distance required from ticketing through security to the gate. If your mom plans to use an ECV at Disney, I doubt she'd be averse to calling for assistance at the airport.

I used airport assistance on my last visit. You can note on your reservation with the airline that you need wheelchair assistance. Wheelchair and assistant was waiting for me as I left the plane. Once I got to the Mears shuttle I tipped the assistant and he was on his merry way and I boarded the bus. Very easy process.
